Ted Cruz vows to mock Trump at AIPAC for skipping Fox News debate
CNN ^ | March 16, 2016

Ted Cruz on Wednesday mocked Donald Trump for bowing out of a debate next week in Salt Lake City, and the Texas senator vowed to call out the GOP front-runner at a gathering of a major pro-Israel lobby group next week.

Trump said earlier in the day that he would not participate in the Fox News debate in Utah on Monday, and John Kasich quickly said that he wouldn't attend if Trump didn't. Later on Wednesday, Fox News formally canceled the event.

Trump said he would use his time instead on Monday to address a conference hosted by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the prominent pro-Israel group. Cruz's campaign said in a statement Wednesday that Cruz would use his time at the same conference to "highlight Trump's positions -- or lack thereof -- in front of the thousands of AIPAC members in attendance."

"Let's be intellectually honest about what's going on here -- Donald Trump is scared to debate Ted Cruz next week,"

I mentioned it last night that Cruz cannot speak for two straight minutes without attacking Trump. He is obsessed and has completely lost his mind. Extremely unlikeable and it is going to hurt him.

“FOX even offered Cruz a 2 hour Townhall, but he declined.”

He is afraid the low ratings would be hard for him to spin.

“I think Trump is just sick of Ted’s theatrics, Kasich’s “I’m just a gentle son of a mailman” schtick, and the Fox prosecutorial fiasco. I’m also sick of it and had to make myself get through the last one.”

I can understand why you wouldn’t want to see another Fox debate with your buddy Donnie in it.

Donnie had a really rough debate that night, didn’t he?

If Cruz doesn’t need to mock Trump, then why are Cruz and his idiotic poodles , Levin and Beck, incessantly attacking Trump on a daily basis ?

Trump doesnt want a one on one debate with Cruz. Cruz has more class than Trump. PERIOD.

Cruz at the previous debate lied and said Trump gave Hillary "4 checks in 2008." Complete lie. Trump gave Hillary ONE $600 check...in 2007. But he gave John McCain the maximum $5,500 donation in 2008.

Did Cruz apologize? Nope. The very next debate he modified his lie -- and again omitted mention of McCain -- by this time saying Trump gave "2 checks to Hillary in 2008." completely false, again. But that's "Lyin' Ted". The man is as phony as they come.

Cruz: Trump wrote 4 checks to Hillary 2008 presidential campaign; Fact check says that’s not true!

The only people afraid of cruz are the Canadians he left behind.

>trump already had plans to attend this other think i think its funny how fox picked that day of all days

The establishment got good traction out of the debate Trump skipped, and they got some out of Trump skipping CPAC to campaign; so they’re doing the ‘have you stopped beating your wife’ skit.

If Trump debated, he’d have been trashed for abandoning Israel, called anti-Jewish, add some Hitler slurs for good measure.

Since Trump keeps his earlier promise, they’re breaking out the “afraid to debate” meme.

Oddly, Kasich spoiled the GOPe scheme by also declining and leading to the debate cancellation (thankfully; do we really need a ‘debate’ again with one candidate getting gotcha attacks and video sequences and the others getting softball questions playing to their strengths?)

Cruz gets a pass at answering questions during debate. Cuba and torture to name a few. He has skated this entire primary. Anyone else who had won 3 primaries and a handful of caucus’ would have been laughed out of the campaign by now. Don’t get me started on Kasick. Both of these guys have not been vetted at all.

Trump was lambasted for missing the C-PAC Conference because he was campaigning. Now he’s lambasted for attending the AIPAC instead of campaigning?

Cruz makes no sense. Is Ted mad that AIPAC invited Trump first?

It’s O.K. You figured it out. The Corker Bill was enough for me. And a whole lot since then, including Stabby the Clown.

Ted is tone deaf and unaware of what is happening.
For some reason, he seems to be running a 1980s campaign, in imitation of Reagan.
Unfortunately, this is 2016.

I don’t think he understands what Trump is doing, why he is doing it and why it is working.
Ted just keeps doubling down.

They only scheduled the debate a few days ago, Trump was invoted to do something else months ago.

The only purpose of ever increasing dedebates is so the cam attempt to bring done the Trumpian, he’s smarter then that.

Do you think that Cruz might try to explain why he voted for the Corker bill, the bill that allows the greatest terrorist nation on earth to develop atomic weapons and the ICBMs to deliver them to any place on earth?

The nation that has sworn to eradicate Israel as a nation?

Do you think he will explore the virtues of the Corker bill he voted “yes” on?

I feel the same as you. Started out strongly in favor of a Trump/Cruz ticket. Even had it in my tagline. Cruz has made me realize that I just don't like him on a personal level, and sucking up to the Bushes and playing the splitter hasn't helped. Today, I was kind of warming back up to the idea of them teaming up to foil the GOPe's plan of a brokered convention. Then he pulls this crap and reminds me why I have soured on him.

I don't think he could ever be elected. He is just not likable or charismatic. If anyone could, he could shrink Romney's map. I can't imagine 8 months of that nasal, smug, whiny voice telling us why he is so magnificent.

Cruz has become a caricature of ... Rubio!!! Honestly, could he make any more tone deaf, unforced, stupid, idiotic errors? He’s become a joke, a total jackass. I’ll just bet those AIPAC attendees will beat up on Trump after Cruz mocks him. Just betcha. Well, maybe not.

Both Cruz and Rubio had so much promise but no maturity. They should have completed at least one term in the Senate, had some accomplishment under their respective belts, but oh, no, they had to get sworn into the Senate and start immediately running for POTUS, before they even found the Senate men’s room.
