The biggest plus is a Trump/Cruz ticket would immediately secure the nomination for us (the majority of the right-leaning grassroots voters), end any possibility of a GOPe betrayal at the convention, and would ensure the Republican party is finally with we the grassroots people (tea party, conservatives, religious people, economic conservatives, business people, middle class, blue collar, national security patriots, etc, ie, a rebirth of the Reagan Coalition) and against the globalist GOP big government establishment. Itd be a yuuuge middle finger to the elite ruling classes of both parties.
And it would have coattails guaranteeing a pro-America landslide against the America-hating Marxists and a strengthening of the Republican majority in the congress and in local and state governments. And finally begin a return to constitutional, pro-America, pro-free-market government and a reversal of the slide into godless socialism and globalism.
A mandate from we the people to secure the borders, enforce the law, deport the illegals, end sanctuary cities, end the war on Christianity, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the regulations, end the war on American industry, end the war on coal gas & oil, bring back a growing economy, bring back manufacturing and jobs, and rebuild the military.
Unlike the GOPe, this is what real Americans want and what both candidates propose doing.
So lets quit bickering, join forces, and make it happen.
Even if the supporters united, I don’t know if Trump and Cruz would. As far as I’m concerned, either one or both are fine.
No.
It would mean that Cruz would have to take orders from Trump, and implement his agenda. How likely is that? And what do Cruz supporters think about a Cruz who is subservient to Trump?
Cruz is a constitutional lawyer and by all accounts a damned good one. The place for a man like that is on the Supreme Court, not as #2 in an adminstration that will demand extreme loyalty and which needs a VP with legislative experience.
Sure.
This > Trump wins, hell do whatever it takes, from bashing the media, to roughing up Bernies goons, we finally have an unapologetic fighter. All this name calling is nothing more than negative political name branding(Lying Ted). Not personal, look at Carson(The Molester), there now buds.
Plus the only viable way to win, now, is to not tick off 40% of the conservative base, Cruz voters. Throw em a bone, keep the base in the fold, win in a landslide, destroy the GoPe and in 8 years Tedll be the guy.
If Ted tries a different path, i.e. contested convention, his presidential future will resemble Huckabees’, and we’ll have 8 years of Clinton.
Amen.
Reading the 1st 75 post and still see Haters on both sides.
I am not a Trump Hater.
I see a huge turnout, benefiting all the down-ballot races, local, state & federal.
Cruz will not pull in any Democrats, which like it or not are necessary in the general election.
Additionally: Cruz is a globalist, Trump is a nationalist.
As a Cruz supporter , I have said repeatedly that I will take double 0 over Hillary!
Cruz would add gravitas. It would make the GOPe heads explode. That, to me, is worth a lot.
I think it’s still too early for such a move but likely will need to be negotiated as the convention gets closer
Do I remember Trump saying something about a single term?
Our only trick is to get the two to agree to unity such that we can reliably infer it without them signing papers over it before the convention.. we can blow wide apart before that if we aren’t given signs. I got my sign from KellyAnne Conway two days ago.. now if Trump and Cruz can THEMSELVES send out unity dog whistles... c’mon, guys!
Yes
If the two could get their egos in check and mend some fences, I think it could work. A Trump/Cruz ticket would be easier for Cruz conservatives to swallow than a Trump/other ticket. Trump is older, and might not hang around for a second term, which sets up Cruz nicely for the next election.
That said, I think we should see how Cruz does without Rubio in the race before anointing Trump as the winner.
Kinda of like getting Hamilton to like Adams.
A Trump/Cruz ticket is certainly doable at this point.
1) Trump must know this year is his only chance to become president.
2) Cruz too, must know he will never get closer to being president than he is this year—ever. The GOPe might be willing to work with him to defeat Trump this year, but once that fight is over, Cruz goes back to being GOPe #1.
3) Cruz must also know that VP has been the stepping stone to the GOP nomination and the presidency. Eight years from now, he would be the presumptive nominee. Plus he (and Trump) will have ad 8 years to remold the GOP into a machine that is more favorable to Cruz.
Look what Bill Clinton did in 8 years—he turned the Democratic party into a Clinton machine. Hillary is reaping the benefits.
Of course, this assumes a Trump/Cruz ticket, but Trump is drawing more support, I think that is the logical pairing.
If cruise and Trump did that it would put a stake in the heart of the donor class which is actively running the political parties, not their voter bases.
I want to ditch the GOPe. Cannot support Neil Embezzler Bush's preferred candidate. Might as well have voted for JEB!
Rafael E. Cruz . . .
I dont care.
You can go by bike.
You can go on a Veep-Bike if you like.
If you like you can go in a new red hat.
Do you know who Richard Nathan Haass is and what Trump has said about him???
