1) Clerked for that uber-activist Brennan.

2) Nominated by Clinton previously.

3) Anti-gun as Hell.

4) Nominated by Obama.

Not just “No” but NO F’ING WAY!!!!!!

Dead. On. Arrival.

Elections have consequences, Barky!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha - you don’t like that concept so much when it turns around and takes a hunk out of your narrow ass, do you? Well, too damned bad.

Agree, looking forward to what the GOA and the NRA have to say about this nomination.

Obama’s on TV whining and raging about the Senate.

There’s always a recess appointment if he can pull it off, but that’s the only way that anti-gun, anti-American man should get on the court.

1998: With a new deadline looming at noon today, the Justice Department made a last-ditch emergency appeal to the Supreme Court yesterday to stop prosecutors from questioning President Clinton’s bodyguards about what they know of his relationship with Monica S. Lewinsky. [] Two of the 11 active judges did not participate: David B. Sentelle, who sits on the special panel that oversees Starr and is required by law to recuse himself, and Merrick B. Garland, who was a top aide to Reno until Clinton appointed him to the bench last year.

This one really jumps out

A former clerk for William Brennan, Garland managed to get significant Republican support for his current seat and reportedly wants a High Court spot badly. Some even suggest his opinions are tempered to shape his image in achieving this goal (a Supreme Court seat). (emphasis added) http://prospect.org/article/contenders-high-court

Now comes the hand-wringing from the GOPe: they are going to have to weigh whether Hillary wins in November (and then we get a much worse nominee they can’t ignore) or whether they gamble hoping that the GOP wins and the next nom comes from the hated Trump.

Ding - he’s a shape-shifter politician, masquerading as a judge. Looks moderate; will be highly liberal. So will the Senate see that?

One of Garland’s mentors, according to a July 6, 1995 Los Angeles Times article, was then-Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick.

...

Gorelick. Now there’s a rotten name from the past.

I agree. We have too many people from these two schools running things. The inbred cultures of these institutions are part of the problem. They do not reflect the US as a whole. I am also concerned how the concentration of power in the hands of their alumni affects the admissions process.
