During a recent campaign event, presidential candidate Bernie Sanders shed some light on his plans for the trucking industry.
In the short clip, which can seen above, Sanders promised to do great things if elected president, including creating a state of the art rail system which takes trucks off the road.
The crowd at the event responded with thunderous applause.
Several drivers immediately contacted us, expressing concern over the statements. This guy has to be stopped said one reader.
What do you think?
Is it political rhetoric used to excite uninformed followers, or will the trucking industry be significantly downsized under a Sanders presidency? Let us know your thoughts on Facebook and in the comments below.
Actually I think this drops to the level of retarded, how is the sandman going to build these wonders without screwing taxpayers, business owners, and homeowners? Exactly how does this blinding light of brilliance think cargo is going to get to and from his "state of the art" rail centers?
They are fond of a time where rail was the tool of commies.. and they can make them run on time.
The myth that central planning is superior to the free market is one reason why socialism always fails, and always must fail, because central planning always ends up destroying planning and substituting chaos, which creates an anarchy of production.
Don’t forget JITS, Just In Time Supply.
Trucks are what make JITS the money saver it is for business.
Think about all the rail yards that would have to be built or expanded to get trucks off the road.
Billions of dollars and decades of environmental impact studies then decades of court battles.
Then there is the union aspect.
All railroads are union.
Who would want to put the entire economy into the hands of a single union?
Only a committed socialist.
I think Trump just got the Teamster vote...
The guy reminds me of some creepy pervert who likes kiddie porn.... In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a an SD card or a dozen full of kiddie porn.
Not only the truckers votes, but also the trial lawyers votes too.... All those ambulance chasing shysters who target trucking companies with their ads:
“Have you or a loved one been injured or killed in an accident involving a big rig? If so you may be entitled to big money... Call me, Ambulance Chasing Shyster for your free consultation.”
And will the teamsters vote for him now?
What about us brain-dead slobs?
You’ll be given cushy jobs!
BOL!
Faux after losing hundreds of thousand viewers for Bashing Trump apparently are running a ton of ambulance chasing ads and Shamwa type of ads.
Pinging your great list!
Before we get there, Obama’s buddy Warren Buffett has been buying railroad stock:
Buffet is big in the Crony green capitalism!
Buffett Bets Big on Railroads Future
By MICHAEL J. de la MERCED and ANDREW ROSS SORKINNOV. 3, 2009
Americas best-known investor, Warren E. Buffett, is making his biggest bet yet on the nations economic future by buying, of all things, a railroad.
After deftly capitalizing on the financial crisis with a series of bold deals, Mr. Buffett on Tuesday agreed to buy the 131-year-old Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation.
A railroad might strike many people as a bit old-fashioned more 19th century than 21st. But Mr. Buffett is wagering that as the economy revives, so will the demand for goods to be shipped by train. Burlington Northern carries coal and timber from the West, grain from the Midwest and imports arriving directly from Mexico and Canada, as well as through California ports.
And railroads, Mr. Buffett contends, are transportation for a fossil fuel-challenged future, since trains are generally more efficient and greener than trucks.

heh heh
The article left out one of the big, newer users of the rails and railcars; fuel ethanol and its DDGS by-products. Plenty of Buffet involvement in those specifically.
Thanks for the heads up re ethanol. Buffett’s rr is and will be hauling tank cars of ethanol.
Great catch and add on! Thanks

And, the liberal zombies sat there and nodded in agreement. Hillary Clinton bragged during her CNN town hall in Ohio that shes going to put a lot of coal miners out of work.
It should be no surprise that the Republican Party carries working class districts in America by a 2-1 margin. And working Middle Class Americans support Donald Trump.

That pretty much defines the limit of Progressive logical thought processes. How in they HELL did this idiot remember to keep breathing, for so long?
I'm still waiting for why there are so many trucks in the Chunnel, and aboard the cross channel ferries, daily...
