Supporters of Sens. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) took to social media to slam the freshman senators for blaming leftists shutting down a Trump Chicago rally on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.
I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment, when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence to punch people in the face. The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We earlier today in St. Louis over thirty arrested. Thats not how our politics should occur, Cruz said Friday. You know, the City of Chicago in 1968 saw some ugly days when politics descended into hatred and incivility and even violence and it is my hope that in 2016 that we can appeal to our better angels and avoid going down that road once again.
Cruz supporters, incensed by the Texas senators blame game, stormed social media to express their anger. Top comments on a Friday Facebook post promoting a Cruz victory fund drew furious responses (comments quoted here are unedited):
Jerry Shalow: Cruz you lost my vote for using this protest for your political game. Rubio also. Trump has my vote. How about the violations of the 1st amendment TED!!!!!!! Condone the violence what you just did.
Pappy Beagles: Im a Texan, I voted for you for the senate, and was supporting you for president, up until you blamed Trump for the savage behavior of Hillary and Bernie supporters in Chicago. I just sent a $100.00 contribution to a billionaire, and im retired on a fixed income, so guess this is goodbye to you, and I am now firmly on the Trump wagon.
Gayle Natale: Mr. Cruz, I just listened to your response regarding the protestors who caused

Well, he’s at 924k now. Dunno how much he was at before.
Well, golly gee whiz, that's not what wonderful conservative Ted Cruz said so you must have misunderstood something you read, fella. /sarc for sure
The Trump has "the power to cloud men's minds so they cannot see him." Cruz and the other two midgets were walked right into it. It was hilarious to watch.
The extra added attraction was CNN looping the video of two white guys defending the flag from the depredations of a crazed black thug and playing it nonstop for 2 hours while blaming Trump for the violence. Donald is The Shadow. He whispers in their ears and they immolate themselves.
Cruz and GOPe are supporting Bernie’s Brownshirts. How low will they go?
What source do you have?
Indeed. Which leader can we trust? A true mensch, or one of those three little yapping GOPee sissy-men? Go Trump!
Trump = Stand your ground. Crus is pro attackers of our rights.
If Cruz instead denounced that behavior, he might contribute to stopping it instead of encouraging more of it by his reactions.

The BLM folks and GOPe’s are signing up.
They have found a candidate they can support.
What source do you have?
Maggie there is a Freeper that keeps tract of Twitter and FB numbers and posts irregularly. Can’t remember the name. But checking his records would confirm it
So Teddy. If you tell a women that if a guy tries to rape her she should scratch and fight back (preferably carry and use) does that mean she contributed to the violence if she is raped? Pathetic.
Blame those who peacefully assemble. Weak.
Correct. He’s been hanging around with Rubio and Bush supporters too much.
Hilarious! Just like the Trump lemmings on here took to FR to claim they are switching from Cruz to Trump or whatever. Looking back through their postings (you knew we'd look) indicates they have been full-throated Trumpkins from the beginning. And Breitbart is so fully in the tank for Trump that they threw their own reporter under the bus when Trump's goon assaulted her. Y'all are so childish. We're not that stupid. We're not all like you.
You know you are over the target when the flak gets real thick...
kaboom
Actually, they abandoned the only man in the battle. Except for Trump they're all just noisy little tufted titmice.
Cruz sold out by putting a Bush on his team
