At a media availability in Chicago, GOP Presidential candidate Ted Cruz blamed Donald Trump for the violence and protests that occurred earlier in the day at a Donald Trump rally at the University of Illinois-Chicago. The rally had to be cancelled due to safety concerns.

So, like a typical Trump supporter, you would rather call me names than tell me one thing in Cruz’s statement that is not true. And, in my opinion, trump chose to run and hide last night instead of fight for his right to speak.

So, like a typical Cruz supporter, you still didn't get it. There was nothing Cruz’s statement that is not true and I am glad of it. The enemies of our Republic must be confronted and if there is violence, at least we didn't go quietly in the night. And furthermore, Ted Cruz was born a Canadian sissy!

Thank you for your reasoned response. Much more kind than the ones that call those who disagree with them “f...ing idiots”, traitors, and tools, among others. IMO my view does not welcome anarchy. It is that anarchy that we need to avoid. Trump has baited these people for months and now he is getting it back. They are like wild animals, you poke them hard enough and this is what you get. Mr Trump has bragged about what he would do if a BLM protester reached him (as have some one here who brag about the physical violence they will mete out). These people need to be arrested and prevented from trying to shut down free speech. BTW, I was accused of being against the first amendment because I thought Trump has incited some of it.

For those who are old enough to remember George Wallace you might recall how he would brag about what he would do with his car if any protesters laid down in front of him. I'm not saying that Trump is the same politically as Wallace, but there is some similarities in their attitude toward those who oppose them.

You simply can't brag about the violence you will do to people (Trump- “I have a concealed carry permit and know how to use it”) and not expect things like this to happen.

Anyway, Trump has won again. All everyone is talking about is him and his rally, right before the big primaries. And guess what? He went on his favorite network MSNBC and told Chris Matthews that this kind of violence gets him more votes. Go look at the video clip.

As for my view not being shared with many of FR, you are likely right. I have noticed that lots of reasoned voices on here are gone and gone elsewhere, or else just being dormant. I have had several email me agreeing with what I have said.

I will not participate in a third party. I think that would just give the election to Hillary, which will be a disaster. Guess I will hold my nose and vote for Trump, if it comes to that. But being a history buff I sort of feel like we are facing a similar choice as Germany in the early 1930’s. The choice was between the National Socialists and the Communists. I pray that Trump will be a great president like some of you think he will, but for now, I fear for my country!

So, you liked what happened last night in Chicago because it happened to Trump and his supporters.

I never thought I would see this many posters on FR agreeing with the disgusting comments by Cruz, Robot Rubio, and Kasitch in support of the demonstrators whose opposed freedom of speech with violence.

At least this revealed who are leftist disruptors here.

No, I did not say that and you know I didn’t. I am against anyone interfering with a person’s constitutional rights. And if you will look at what Cruz said he said upfront that the violent protester were the ones first at fault.

So Trump should have carried on even those the police warned him that serious violence would likely result? And if he had, you would have blamed him for being irresponsible. Don’t pretend you’re objective. We can all see right through you!!!

Really the Police never told him to cancel the rally.. Trump made the decision himself.. I don’t know all I’m saying when you embolden them those leftist now they will come back over and over again.. Yesterday their was also fights at his rally in MO...

Yes, cruz was wrong when he blamed Trump, just like the rest of the RATS were wrong when they blamed Trump.

“Earlier today over thirty people were arrested in one rally, and then tonight as violence broke out the rally was canceled altogether. Now the responsibility for that lies with protestors who took violence into their own hands.”

I don’t know how much clearer it gets than that.

“I don’t know how much clearer it gets than that.”

Your deliberate omission Cruz’s accusation just makes you look dishonest:

“But I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment when the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence to punch people in the face. The predictable consequence of that is that it escalates, and today is unlikely to be the last such instance. We saw earlier today in St. Louis over thirty arrested.”

If Cruz had ended his statement there, not a single FR poster would have had a word of complaint.

But he didn't stop there.

And with the sentences that followed, Cruz took a blowtorch to his presidential hopes.
