Marco Rubios campaign says supporters of the Florida senator should back John Kasich in Ohio on Tuesday if they want to stop Donald Trump.
If you are a Republican primary voter in Ohio and you want to defeat Donald Trump, your best chance in Ohio is John Kasich, Alex Conant, Rubios communications director, told CNN.
The same is true here in Florida, Conant said, emphasizing that Rubio is the candidate best positioned to beat the real-estate mogul in the states primary Tuesday for its 99 winner-take-all delegates.
Yes, my answer is John Kasich is the one candidate in Ohio that can beat Donald Trump, Conant said when pressed on whether he was asking Rubio supporters to back Kasich in the governors state. Thats stating the obvious.

When you think about it, the uni-party always tries to engineer a heads-I win, tails-you-lose election. Hillary! and Jeb! are both acceptable establishment-vetted candidates.
I hope Teddy enjoyed his meeting with the GOPe scum.
Huh? If you’re happy with insiders buying influence then yes vote Trump.
Hear, hear, you people who prefer Cruz but like Trump. If you do not vote for Trump in Ohio or Florida or wherever, you will get a brokered convention and end up with someone you do not like at all. It is decision time for you. Think about it very carefully. You have been told by the establishment candidate that a non-Trump vote means a brokered convention. Just remember that, what you are voting for from now on, is Trump or a brokered convention ONLY!!!! You are NOT getting Cruz!
And if we have a brokered convention, you can be sure that we will have either Romney, Ryan or Bush (likely some combination of the two.)
But, have you noticed, Senator Rubio has large feet?
So is this strategy Yeb’s legacy to the GOPe?
Or is this running up the white flag the brainchild of this mitt/Yeb collaboration?
“Id rather magic underwear than underwear full of crap like Trump”.
Smear it on your face.
This is just dumb. Why not let the voters decide the election rather than trying to politically calculate everything?
You make an excellent argument, although I think the GOP would be happy to run Cruz in the general. He's as good a "designated loser" to Hillary, as Jeb was.
True, SOME of us are not deceived but you are, and if you could think clearly and look at what is going on in front of your nose, and wonder at God’s divine mercy for this sinful nation. Look at this miraculous rise of a candidate who is decimating up the establishment and has awakened the sleeping giant — you would realize that Trump is the only one who CAN beat Hillary, and that the hand of destiny is upon him and him alone!
What we are seeing is the death breath of the GOPe, they are backed into the corner and they are acting like rats, they realize their party is over if they lose this one. Trump is not my first pick but if he wins the nomination, so be it, I’ll go along with him but, not blindly like some here on FR.
decimating the establishment — not “decimating up” the establishment. I do know better than that.
cruz u have no supporters lol
Quite true, but neither Romney nor Bush would be far less happy with running Cruz as they would be with running themselves! So again, you Cruz supporters who really do like Trump, why risk it? If you love Cruz, and hate Trump, then it makes sense to vote Cruz, you might get Cruz, but I still think you won’t. I think this eligibility issue is going to do him in. What complete and utter nonsense, born in Canada with a Cuban father makes you natural born!
You can't be serious. Soros, to name one, and there are many other puppet-masters.
Two hedge-fund managers who work for George Soros have given more than $500,000 to Ohio Gov. John Kasich's super PAC and $100,000 each to both Jeb Bush and Chris Christie.George Soros Giving BIG BUCKS To THESE GOP Candidates - thefederalistpapers.org - Feb 13, 2016
Now, if you are limiting your view to candidates for the office, then Trump is the only one to have been in a position of pulling strings, rather than having them pulled. This is a cornerstone of his campaign, if you haven't noticed.
I think this is Romney’s brainchild. If Jeb is involved, he was just the messenger boy between Romney and the approved candidates.
“Some of us are not deceived. If Trump is the nominee, we get President hillary.”
Yep. Some of us are not deceived, all right. Unfortunately, that “some of us” doesn’t include you.
I’m Florida - will vote for Rubio instead of Cruz and encourage my likewise Cruz family and friends to do the same. I read neither Rubio or the postman’s son are campaigning in the other 3 states that vote on 3/1. Sounds like a plan to me.
Well of course one establishment candidate will back another establishment candidate.
The fix is in: All the statewide elected officials are telling all of us Ohioans to vote for Kasich.
Heaven forbid, we the people, act on our own without their assistance. I’m surprised any of us morons can actually make it to the voting booth by ourselves. {sarcasm}
