Attacks On Trump Didn't Slow Him Down In The Primaries. America's Another Story
By David Lauter Last night, after his triumphs in more GOP primaries, Donald Trump reveled in the ineffectiveness of the attacks against him.
“I don’t think I’ve ever had so many horrible, horrible things said about me in one week … but that’s OK,” Trump said in his news conference from his Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla. “I want to thank the special interests and the lobbyists, because they obviously did something to drive these numbers.”
There's no question that he's right about the primaries -- nothing anyone has thrown at Trump has shaken the support of his ardent backers, who make up about four-in-10 Republican voters.
But get outside the GOP primaries and the picture looks very different. Trump's image with the wider public is extremely negative and getting worse.
I want to thank the special interests and the lobbyists, because they obviously did something to drive these numbers.
The latest data comes from an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released today. It finds that just 25% of all voters have a positive opinion of Trump, while 64% see him negatively. His image was bad a month ago; it's worse now.

Yeah, I’m guessing there is opposition research on Ted Cruz that the Dems are holding on to. Being such a top lawyer and idealogue etc.
The only negative smear I have seen against Cruz so far is that his college roommate did not like him because he kept on hitting the snooze button on the alarm.

I have explained why for eight months. Trump’s “negatives” do not equate in a political sense. They are like “negatives” for JR Ewing, Richatd Petty, or the “Undertaker.” They are “show biz” negatives. That’s why writers and pundits CONTINUALLY miss it.
Rush has gotten close to getting this a couple of times.
The WSJ/NBC poll is done by a Public Relations company not a polling outfit so its all bogus and smoke and mirrors...so forget about it...

Everyone but Trump is swept away in the coming 0bama corruption and fraud crimes.
Canada citizenship issue has been rejected by the Courts. Cruz is the ONLY viable candidate who can beat Hillary in both style, tenor, and substance. Trump will be exposed for the snake oil salesman that he is who is “innocent” on issues of foreign policy and international economics.

Released yesterday. How many dozen times have stories based on this poll already been posted at FR? NBC/WSJ has put out some of the most inaccurate polls around the past few weeks.
The courts never decided the Cruz issue, they all refuse to think about Ted’s canada citizenship
Ted appeals to a small tranche of voters.
Ted gets creamed in a national election.
