Last week former Republican presidential nominee blasted GOP front-runner Donald Trump in Utah.
Mitt attacked Trump just as his father attacked conservative Barry Goldwater back in 1964.
During his speech Romney argued that Trump was a failed businessman. (Trump is a billionaire.)
Romney added this:
Wait wait wait. Isnt he a huge business success? Doesnt he know what hes talking about? No, he isnt. And no, he doesnt. Look, his bankruptcies have crushed small businesses. And the men and women who worked for them. He inherited his business; he didnt create it. And what ever happened to Trump airlines? How about Trump University? And then theres Trump Magazine. And Trump Vodka. And Trump Steaks. And Trump Mortgage. A business genius he is not.

I want a Trump Chia-head!
Well other sources say that those weren’t Trump streaks at all, but had the brand for Bush Brothers Provisions Company of Palm Beach. I guess some people are so desperate to believe that they question nothing. http://dailycaller.com/2016/03/08/those-trump-steaks-the-donald-served-tonight-they-werent-trump-steaks-video/?utm_campaign=atdailycaller&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Social#ixzz42NVrjL8a
Nice.
Most generous of you.
Will that be delivered via FedEx or UPS?
;-)
ROTFLMAO!!
If we rely on past actions, the answer is YES.
When she was under oath Mrs. Clinton defended having friends who say unkind things. I don’t think there is that much bad blood between them.
But the bottom line is folks do not care about upscale for domestic flights. The southwest cattle car method is what it takes. What airline that decades ago tried ‘no smoking’ flights? Big bust, only before it’s time. Face it, trunp screwed the pooch on his airline with the exception of the bird he has now, what a georgous airplane. Wonder what his cost per mile is?
I may sound like a SW airline fan and i am of the original style. The very first stock i bought was 2 grand worth in 1974 and sold it in 1990. The new SW has grown to fat, just like the other airlines.
You're just another desperate picker of nits, RWB.
Mr. Trump's savvy campaign staff erected a quick TV visual for the victory press conference....and someone undoubtedly was sent out to the nearby Bush Provisions Company to get a bunch of fresh-lookin' steaks to go with the wine and water bottles already available.
Trump's aim was to demolish Hitt Romney's lies that gave the impression that ALL the Donald's minor businesses were utter failures...and ONE televised shot of that attractive table to refute Romney's slimy attack WAS WORTH 1000 WORDS !
Leni
Genius, he cleaned the floor mat, I mean Mitt, with water, wine and then celebrated with juicy steaks. LOL !!!
“By his steaks ye shall know him” ... What does that even mean, given that he has no steaks?
If you call “facts” nitpicking, well then there is no way to have a logical discussion. I have no idea where you get the idea that I am desperate, but what evs, if it makes you feel better then go ahead and label me as such. No skin off my back, sticks and stones and all that.
They could have just displayed the wine and the water. The steaks weren’t his and were all smoke and mirrors. I’m puzzled as to why they thought that using Bush Brother’s steaks would prove anything.
IMO, Romney did zero damage to Trump, so why give Rommey more attention?
Hope you have a wonderful, blessed day, Leni!
Steaks were the piece de resistance! That was one of the items jealous Romney mentioned in his so called speech. Mittster is extremely jealous, in that Trump is going to succeed where he utterly failed.
Trump has a long pattern of exaggerating what he owns and/or the extent of his ownership, it doesn’t mean everything about him is bad you just have to take what sounds like a specious claim with a grain of salt.
I support a constitutional federal government. We do not have one right now, in my view. And I’m not on freerepublic to have nit picking, labeling fight with anyone about anything. I’m here to learn, infrequently comment, and browse among a website populated by predominantly conservative thinkers.
Doc, you don’t get it. I was a conservative before Ted Cruz was born. I am more conservative than he is, and likely more conservative than you.
For the record, I was born during FDR’s first term, and I know what he and a fellow alum did regarding agriculture. FDR/Henry Wallace destroyed baby pigs and poisoned mountains of potatoes to support farm prices while we had many in this country out of work and hungry. They were both evil, and I learned that from my father when I was young.
I have never cottoned to the evil economic policies foisted on us by the left, whom we used to call Democrats. And the idea of supporting wars that we do not intend to win is abhorrent to me. Korea was a Truman mistake. Douglas MacArthur was right on tactics, but wrong on not accepting that Truman was his boss. Would have better to reprimand MacArthur rather than firing him. Lyndon Johnson and Robert McNamara tied the hands of our military in Vietnam. Just as has Barry Soetoro done in the middle east. Lots of evil. It continues.
‘Republican’ presidents are not immune. George H W Bush fell short of doing what should have been done in the first Gulf War. His son was totally wrong in destabilizing the Middle East by going into Iraq. Many innocents were killed by what he did, and their relatives hate us now. I know some of those personally. Iraq with Saddam was an effective ‘neutralizer’ for Iran and their evil regime.
I loved Ronald Reagan, though he was also not a conservative, as Donald Trump is not. They were both unifiers. They were both in tune with those of us that hate the establishment control (both parties) over this country. Reagan changed that, though with the same kind of opposition that Trump is facing today. The ‘establishment’ even fostered the idea of a ‘co-presidency’, with Reagan as president and Gerald Ford as VP. Evil GOPe sham!
You like Ted Cruz. He is a lot less conservative than I am. He and his wife both were a part of the George W Bush administration. His wife was/is? a member of the Council of Foreign Relations. He/his wife are beholden to Goldman Sachs and/or other banking interests that are not good for our country.
About civility...your candidate, Ted Cruz has gone beyond civility. Get a grip.
So how do you interpreting Article II. Section 1. Clause V. ???

When it comes time on FR to support the republican nominee or take a dirt nap which will you choose?
