National Poll: Donald Trump Remains Frontrunner, Would Lose Big Head-To Head With Ted Cruz

Trump leads poll with a disparate group campaigning. When head to head with Cruz or Rubio, he loses.

"An ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Donald Trump leading the race to become the Republican nominee for President of the United States. However, if the field were to consolidate, the billionaire businessman would no longer be favored in a head-to-head situation, according to the survey...]

[Cruz easily defeats Trump head-to-head 54-41 percent. non-Cruz or Trump supporters prefer Cruz to Trump 72-17 percent.

Among “very conservative voters,” Cruz takes down Trump 60-34 percent. Among white evangelicals, Cruz handles Trump 64-31 percent.

Rubio also defeats Trump, but by smaller margins, 51-45 percent. Non-Rubio or Trump voters favor Rubio 69-23 percent. He, like Cruz, is favored by approximately 60% of women in a head-to-head with Trump.

I like the cut of your jib.

Particularly the hypothetical poll here and now that says something that someone likes.

So far, the leadership I have seen from the Trump side has been more thoughtful and earlier than the material put out by Cruz a little later and often substantially the same as Trump.

Most interesting new data seems to say that Cruz has also been working with Bush early in his career. I do not know if this makes him more “establishment” but it has not been widely disseminated.

He probably would have in a two man primary race. In a race in the general though I think Trump has an advantage in being a known quantity.

That poll is of Republicans. Cruz picks up almost no Democrats while Trump beats Cruz head to head with all voters included.

Look D1...I think you’re terrific. And I love your support for Trump. And I don’t think you’re generally nasty with folks.

But this is about a Trump/Cruz matchup. Alone. Gimme that matchup and THEN we can talk about whether the poll was right or not.

We don’t have that now.

Please read te article I posted.

Let’s not argue about stuff I didn’t posit.

Keep telling yourself that.

People like to go with the winner. Trump still hasn’t been KO in spite of setbacks.

If Cruz coudn’t do it in a four man field, he’s unlikely to do it in a head-to-head matchup.

By the time that happens, the race will be essentially over.

Head to Head Cruz only needs 51% of the vote to all of the WTA delegates, which are most after Mar15.

Also most primaries will be closed then as well...

Do you have any idea just how ridiculous you are.

Says one of FR's loudest, foaming-at-the-mouth, Trump haters.

You don't have the credibility to throw stones at others, homie.

Also Trump.

The media and the democrats haven’t worked Trump over, either.

Don’t kid yourself.

Disney World might be a nice place to take your kids, but it shouldn’t be where you live.

I’m under no illusions about what the media will do with whoever is the nominee.

But I’m confident in Cruz, his background, record and ability to deal with the onslaught.

Trump, not so much.

Cruz could do well in Mississippi and Idaho after Florida and Missouri I see him doing well in Utah and Wyoming. Otherwise he is toast.

Most people have a feel for Trump. Cruz, you could say anything about him, and low info voters will buy it. Plus, I don’t think he has the skill set.

That tagline of yours: The conjunction is wrong - It ought to read “Clear choice for Conservatives now: TRUMP and lose.”

National Poll: Donald Trump Remains Frontrunner, Would Lose Big Head-To Head With Ted Cruz

Yawn. This same dynamic has occurred countless times throughout American history.

Eventually, it will become a 2-person race, and then there will be a convention.

Who wins a 2 man race is totally irrelevant as long as it's not a 2 man race.

I was merely trying to point out reality.

I appreciate your nice comments.

We are down to four candidates.

If Ted picks up all the followers of others, why isn’t he leading now?
