Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Sunday that there's a "much bigger upside than downside" in the Republican presidential candidacy of real estate developer Donald Trump.
"I think with the case of Trump, theres a much bigger upside than downside," said Limbaugh while appearing on "Fox News Sunday."

Should have added - he talks some decent stuff, but he has a limit, sort of like a dog on a longish rope.
Just imagine: for lease signs in K and J-Street windows.
I’ve noticed the stories about illegal immigrant crimes have disappeared from the lame stream press.
Rush may be mercenary to a degree but he believes what
he says. I have listened since 1985 and he is consistent.
Sure, Cruz is the candidate of Rush’s heart. However Rush also is intellectually honest enough to admit to himself that Trump has caused a major earthquake in the political process.
Problem for Rush, and a lot of old Conservatives, is they simply do not like, or trust, Trump. To me it is odd since how Trump is being treated pretty much echos how Rush was treated from 1988 to 1994 by the Politcal Machine.
Without Trump Cruz would of been simply ignored or slimed with 10s of millions in attack ads into irrelevance.
To use a sports metaphor, Trump is the lead blocker who blew a hole in the opposition line so Cruz, the ball carrier, could run thru the hole.
In my heart, based on nothing but 40 years of pent up battered Conservative emotion, I wish the ball carrier could run for the touchdown now.
But my head tells me there is a lot more blocking for Trump to do yet.
I agree. I would support a Trump/Cruz ticket. I do think Cruz needs to change some of this comments that are obviously nonsense and promote himself more and get far away from Beck.
I would love to see the lobbyists run out of town.
The owner of the website has some suggestion for you on how you behave going forward. Please drop that attack line. It does nothing to convince anyone to vote for Cruz. It merely alienate people he is going to need voting for him.

We are going to have a great candidate and were going to crush Hillary in the election!

Folks, we need to keep our eye on the prize and settle down. We are going to have a great pro-America candidate whether its Cruz or Trump, and were going to crush the godless America-hating Marxist/fascist felon, Hillary Clinton, in the general election! And thats just a fact.
And thats the bottom line.
We are finally going to secure our borders and start helping repatriate the illegal aliens to Mexico or where ever they came from. And were going to tighten up and start enforcing our immigration laws, including ending sanctuary cities and possibly ending anchor babies. Both of our leading candidates agree on that.
And were going to repeal Obamacare, cut taxes, cut spending, cut regulations, cut the government, cut the debt, cut the global balonyism, cut the P/C crap. Were going to cut the EPA, cut the education dept, cut a whole lot of unconstitutional stuff out of the federal government and let the states control education and other issues that the constitution reserves to them. Both of our guys agree on that.
Were going to pay more attention to trade deals and get better deals for American industry and American workers for a change. Were going to bring back capital, bring back manufacturing, bring back jobs! Cutting taxes, cutting government, rolling back regulations and replacing socialism with capitalism will see to a booming Reaganesque economy and that will generate prosperity and jobs. Cruz, Trump and all of us agree on all of that.
We also agree that we want pro-life, pro-family, pro-constitution, pro-America judges. Both our candidates agree with us on that.
We also want to rebuild our military and make it the most powerful force for peace and defense on the planet. We emphasize peace through strength and do not use our military for nation building or social engineering. We understand its for blowing the crap out of terrorists and war mongers who wish to do us harm. And both of our candidates are on board for that.
Hillary stands for the exact opposite on all of the above!!
This primary is going to be over soon and were all going to have to make a decision. No matter whether Cruz gets it or Trump, we must unite behind OUR candidate and the AMERICAN side and do all we possibly can to get him elected and send the unindicted felon and all around America-hating, liberty-hating traitor, Hillary Clinton to her well deserved next termin jail.
I say we drop the vitriol against each other and against our leading candidates as of now. Were only serving to harden the hearts of our natural allies against us and from this point forward, the hit pieces will not change minds or votes, but will possibly feed the enemy propaganda machine.
Lighten up and bring some joy back into our lives and peace on our board.
Were among friends here.
Thank you all very much.
God bless.
Yes, I think he does and so do I, but the statement about Trump is still spot-on.
Rush needs to retire.
Cruz is highly intelligent, calm, personable. I think he is not capable of saying anything nonsensical.
“Not great like Reagan because there will be times he will betray us, but pretty good overall.”
One thing that is undeniable, he has the ear of the electorate so any open betrayal is very unlikely as he knows his current power if derived from the electorate. If there is an issue that might be called as a betrayal, I’m sure he will have some sort of plausible explanation as to reports of such that will bear out when the final “deal” is done.
If he gets there, the “_____sphere” will be full of all sorts of half-truth recriminations based off feelings and “those familiar with the details” will insist to be leaking.
No denying the pent up anger and frustration at the GOPe. I’m right there with you. Good sports metaphor, by the way.
You must not have listened often because Limbaugh has
not changed and he is no company man.
Trump is too dangerous regarding international politics.
For me, it’s Cruz or lose.
I’ve never mentioned this, but I really liked Trump at first. Then I did my homework. Then I actually listened to what he is saying, how he is saying it and the context.
In my opinion he is the most dangerous man - for the country - to run for president in my lifetime (I’m 62). And right now, we are in a VERY dangerous world. I want a deal maker, to be sure, but not one who’s only experience in the art of the deal is in the business world, where the rules are completely different than in international politics.
That is a good point. After the way the Machine went after Trump, he is not going to owe anyone in DC anything but the back of his hand.
I believe that the objectives for conservatives that ought to apply for the 2016 elections are these:
Win the Presidency
Retain the Republican majority in the Senate
Continue to trend toward Republicans in the down ballot races
Put the Fear of God into the elite, establishment power brokers in Washington.
The question is there a candidate who can achieve all of these goals? The only two realistic choices are Trump and Cruz. The others are unlikely to manage even a single goal. While I favor Cruz, I don’t think that he will win the nomination, Trump will do that. However, he can’t do it by himself. Conservatives will need to get really, really anger and show both the Republican and Democrat parties that we are a force to be reckoned with. Trump is going to be the candidate, but the incumbent political class need to understand that he is just the manifestation of our determination to put them in their place.
Not when he is pimping the King of Amnesty, Marco Rubio.
You are wrong. Do you ever actually listen?
That is the only thing they have left to hit him with, they have nothing else...
Romney didn’t work; Trump has honed in to remove candidates one by one and has succeeded; the GOPe and RNC have done everything and it hasn’t worked; so we will continue to have this being brought up, which as Trump supporters we know it’s a failed, fruitless attempt and they know it also, but what else are they going to talk about with Trump?
It’s just garbage that needs to be put out to the street on garbage day to be hauled off...
