Ted Cruz takes early lead in Kansas Republican caucus

In the Kansas Republican caucus, very early returns have Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in the lead. With 3 percent of the results in, Cruz has 53 percent of the vote, followed by Donald Trump with 21 percent, John Kasich with 15 percent, and Marco Rubio with 10 percent. The Kansas Republican Party released a statement earlier Saturday, saying turnout across the state was "incredible," with some locations reporting "four of five" times the number of voters who came out in 2012. Republicans are also caucusing today in Kentucky and Maine, and holding a primary in Louisiana.

There are only two people I want winning any states—Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
If Ted wins Kansas, I will be happy for him. I do think Trump will win the others, but these two men are fighting the GOPe, and I’m thankful for that.

I believe they are all winner take all or winner take most, which is why the rules were changed to favor the GOP-e, where the more liberal states tend to vote for their candidate. Funny thing is, Trump is the most likely to win these liberal states this time.

No. Almost all later states are wta. There are over 600 delegates to be determined the last week of April through June.

In KS we are proportionate, i. e., 3/4% of a congressional district could give that district, 37 delegates. Less than 3/4%, the delegates are divided according to percentage of voters!
IMHO, all states should be that way!

They are not early releases. The GOP KS caucus ended at 2pm. It is the Democrat caucus that ends at 8pm. Both parties vote on the same day, but GOP is in the afternoon and Democrats are in the evening.
