FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA.—The establishment of the Republican party is playing with fire by seeking to smother Donald Trump. Because the embers of rebellion are crackling in this Florida retirement community.
Trump-supporting seniors here are unfalteringly determined to cross the street in two weeks, enter the local polling station, and vote for the swirly-haired scourge of party elites.
They exude indifference to an anybody-but-Trump strategy, articulated by Mitt Romney and proposed by the party bigshots desperate to wrest the nomination on the convention floor.
The party’s 2012 nominee proposed the following: Voters should rally behind Marco Rubio in the March 15 Florida primary; Ohioans should vote for their governor, John Kasich; and people in other states should back whoever has the best chance to win, between those two and Sen. Ted Cruz.
That kind of co-ordinated attack could deprive Trump of a 50-per-cent-plus-one delegate win at the summer convention, and make it possible to gang up and take him down on the second ballot.
So what’s the response here to Romney?
Well, it can be blunt and salty.

The same GOPe that told us again and again that Trump wouldn't last now want to convince us that they know best how to beat Hillary. What a bunch of arrogant, ignorant and corrupt fools they are.

Romney made a fool of himself.

That’s because, at some point, you realize that you don’t have to hold back your opinions AND you don’t really care what people think about you. The second part is much harder than the first.
Some people take longer than others to reach that point. Some younger. Thankfully, I’ve reached that age.
The Cheap Labor Express and their stooges have become desperate to stop us from electing a President who would stop the illegal alien inundation.
Be very skeptical whenever a loser tries to tell you how to win.
Ya gotta wonder. Having willard come out and oppose DT is one of the more glowing endorsements I’ve ever seen.
Yup! Sometimes I’m a little slow. It took me a long time to buy into the idea that there is NO DIFFERENCE between the Republicans and Democrats as so many of my FReeper friends have been saying here for years. I guess I just didn’t want to believe it. Well, they were right and I was wrong. It’s the Washington politicians against the American people. Romney proved that to me. Right now, I’m still aboard the Cruz “bandwagon” but I will vote for Trump if he is the nominee. I’m sick of the status quo BS coming at us out of Washington.

They intended to lose, they both threw the election.

It’s all about preventing the citizen from electing anyone for President who would stop The Cheap Labor Express.

With all due respect, I disagree. There is a deeply ingrained culture of weakness, lack of conviction, and confusion of purpose in the party. It is like a team that is always on the bottom of the rankings and expects to be there every year.
To get past this culture of defeat we need a new party in my humble opinion.
Romney’s talked more trash about Trump than he ever did about Obama.
Freaking loser.
They don’t care if they beat Hillary. Their main goal is preventing the citizens from electing a President who would stop The Cheap Labor Express.
It’s all about keeping the people pipeline flowing.

The GOP doesn’t want to win and doesn’t trust anyone who wants to.
The fact that the GOPe selected the weak, inept loser Romney (with the assistance of Fox News) to take down Trump speaks once again to the stupidity of the GOP (and Fox’s willingness to collude with the them).
The GOP actually thinks a loser can beat a winner. Typical GOP thinking and mindset.
I doubt it. He has no insight. He’s a clueless as the rest of the GOPe.
