Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly lost custody of his teenage children over allegations of domestic abuse by his ex-wife.
The New York Appellate Division unanimously ruled that O'Reilly's 13- and 17-year-old children should live full time with their mother, Maureen McPhilmy, who was married to the conservative commentator for 15 years.
A 1,400 word opinion using anonymous names was issued by the court last week, but the media only figured out who it was this week.
The ruling states it was the "clearly stated preferences of the children" to live with McPhilmy, citing their "age and maturity" as well as "the home environment provided" by her.
This affirms the original ruling by Nassau County Supreme Court in May 2015, which O'Reilly had appealed to delay its enforcement, Gawker reported.
O'Reilly and McPhilmy will share legal custody in material matters concerning the children, such as schooling, medical care, and religious guidance.
Following the initial ruling last year, it emerged O'Reilly's 17-year-old daughter claimed she had witnessed O'Reilly "choking her mom" and that he had "dragged her down some stairs".
She has said she found O'Reilly's temper "scary" and also branded him an "adulterer" and an absentee father as he was "never around".

Have to admit, except for one disgruntled former female employee who came across as a complainer of opportunity, people who have worked for Trump and been close to the man all say positive things about his private demeanor and conduct. Wish he’d display more of that in public. In O’Reilly’s case being an a**hole must not be an act.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly has lost custody of his two teenage children following an alleged domestic violence incident, according to court documents.
A New York appeals court upheld a ruling that denied Mr. O’Reilly sole residential custody and status as sole decision-maker for the 17-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son he had with his ex-wife, Maureen McPhilmy, the New York Daily News reported. The Fox News host will still have visitation rights with his kids on alternating weekends and some holidays.
“There is a sound and substantial basis for the Supreme Court’s determination that it is in the best interests of the children for the mother to be awarded primary residential custody,” the four-judge Appellate Division panel wrote. “Particularly relevant in this case are the clearly stated preferences of the children, especially considering their age and maturity, and the quality of the home environment provided by the mother.”

On any other network this would get him fired. But money talks and spousal abuse walks.
Well that and maybe not been a philanderer. Fox News had to pay out big to the female producer who he was stalking.
I guess Maureen finally got a belly full and left Bill for a Long Island police detective who she subsequently married. BOR then made a big contribution to the Police Dept and tried to parlay it into getting the Detective set up and fired. It was a big scandal and BOR barely escaped criminal charges.
I met BOR at a book signing once. He could barely be bothered to look up when you handed him the book. His off screen persona is distant and Patrician. He’s not the jocular fellow you see on TV. I would not even describe him as pleasant.

O’Reilly and ex-wife were married in 1996. The daughter was born in 1998.
