Senator Ted Cruz won a hard-fought partial victory in Texas during last nights Super Tuesday primary battle. It was the culmination of months of time and money spent meant to culminate in a clear post-Super Tuesday lead in the race to the GOP nomination this summer. The southern states were to be Cruzs ticket to the White House.
For Cruz, that ticket never arrived. The Texas senator remains well behind Donald Trump in the delegate count, and now rumors are swirling of a campaign that has spent almost as much money as did the already-departed Jeb Bush fiasco, with little more to show for it and that money is said to now be running out.
The numbers are staggering.
Over $100 million raised, much of it from Big Oil, and law firms, and much of that now spent trying to secure a better than 50% victory in Texas that would have garnered the candidate all of his home states 155 delegates, Instead, Cruz will have earned less than 44% support among Texas voters, a number well below historical averages for home state Texas candidates.
....
Ted Cruz gambled almost everything on a decisive Super Tuesday victory. That victory instead went to Donald Trump. Now word is spreading that Cruzs former willing donors are pulling back from the campaign. Cruz still has considerable cash on hand, as does the Super PAC promoting him, (both raised significant amounts last month primarily after Cruzs Iowa Caucus win) but far less cash than before yesterdays primary battle and likely not enough cash to survive yet another month or more as projections have fewer and fewer donations coming in, unless the senator is somehow able to pull off one or two big upsets come March 15th in either Florida or Ohio.

Once upon a time when sanity ruled here, we all despised DC Whispers and knew them for the democrat source that they are.
But all they have to do is post a negative story on Cruz and the little trumps suddenly realize that ... DC Whispers is the god of news sources.
What’s wrong with you people?
Yes, there it is. All Texas governor(s) and Texas senators who have taken a stand on this over the last 2 decades have come out against Ethanol. Cornyn, Hutchison, Perry, and now Cruz who won't buck the oil producers as they get money from these guys. It's not a coincidence. It has nothing to do with 'principled stands' but has most to do about money for oil producers because ethanol cuts into their profits as their oxes are being gored.
The writing is on the wall y’all.
Don’t wait until you’re worthless to make peace Ted.
Speak up plainly........Mutt who?
No he did not use campaign funds......just stop the lies.
Not a lie.
Cruz does not believe in unfair government interference with business.
He proved that in Iowa, where he refused to support the Ethanol subsidy even though that cost him support of the governor there and other ethanol interests.
Cruz believes we should strongly pursue all sources of energy, including ethanol, but not with government subsidies.

But tell us again how hes an outsider. :/]
So what you trumpsters are saying is that only a billionaire can run for president. Take your pick, Tom Steyers, Bill Gates, Paul Allen or Warren Buffet. Unless you are saying the Koch brothers should run.
I mean go ahead and push Trump. Just don’t put out propaganda.
HOW MANY MARRIED WOMEN DOES TRUMP PLAN TO BANG IN THE WHITE HOUSE??
You said...
“Whats wrong with these people?”
They’re caught up in the excite of the moment. The most dedicated of his supporters will also be the most upset when they find out that the candidate they were backing isn’t what they molded him into
Whatever.........
All for naught.....Cruz/s long-term strategy flopped....he bombed in SC and Trump kept him under 50% in Texas which meant Trump got some Texas delegates.
=============================================
THE BIG WINNER Trump had only 5 paid staff in South Carolina, and spent less than $2 MILLION on advertising. Trump spent just over $1 MILLION on advertising in the Super Tuesday states, and had minimal paid staff.
Over $100 million raised, much of it from Big Oil, and law firms

But tell us again how hes an outsider. :/
BTTT!!
OMG, you didn’t..........yeah you did...teehee. Only the DON knows for sure, but I bet he can beat Clintons record.

Everyone hates Trump except PATRIOTS.
“Unbelievable how much vitriol is spewed by the Trump supporters. Simply unbelievable.”
I hear you. It is unbelievable. That’s why I call them ‘little trumps.’
Because Trump has corrupted his supporters. He has made them little versions of himself.
He is nasty and bombastic and they have become so as well.
People I formerly admired so much here have succumbed to the Trump disease. They no longer use logic or reason but scream liar or take nasty digs.
In defending all of Trump’s questionable behaviors, they chip away at their own standards... their own moral fiber.
Womanizing becomes okay. Serial adultery becomes okay. Dealing with the mob and hiring illegals to build one’s buildings becomes okay.
Calling an opponent a psychopath child molester becomes okay, because that guy is leading in Iowa. And, by the way, it is okay to call Iowa voters stupid because they are backing Carson.
Everything Trump does becomes okay.
So where does that leave his supporters.
It leaves them changed people and not for the better.
It leaves them using vicious insults to those who dare to take a stand against Trump.
I don’t care what McConnell would love.
Stick Cruz as VP and head of the Senate and watch McConnell squirm like a wet pig.
Um, no:
Ted Cruz raised nearly $12 million in February his biggest month yet
How many have you banged at your House?
We all wanna know.
If you want your man _Trump- you should keep your mouths shut. You are not winning new support from Cruz fans or anyone else from trashing your opposition .(except for Romney and McLame -— that might bring you votes).
