They probably show he had to be naturalized, also.

Codswaddle. Ted Cruz was a US citizen at birth and did not need to be naturalized. He needed NO official act of the US government whatsoever.

I don't know about the Lepage daughters; specifically I don't know why they would have had to be naturalized; perhaps their parents were not US citizens. If so, they were not US Citizens by birth and would not be eligible to serve as President.

Look again... Cruz’s parent(s) were not US citizens either. It’s quite clear that his father wasn’t, and that’s the parent that counts, and even his mother is questionable since it is said that she became a Canadian citizen.

LePage was living and working in Canada, married to a Canadian woman (whom he later divorced), and his daughters were born there. That’s a different situation than Cruz.

What papers did Cruz use to get an US passport? It is NOT hard to demonstrate his case if he has one... Surely you are not NOW claiming, Cruz used his Canadian birth certificate to get a US passport now are you?

Actually you are wrong. His parents had to register his birth for his claim to be recognized. The process to register births abroad are on the DoS website. I had to register my kids birth and my Mom had to register mine.

There are many of us that have been “screaming” for years that Obummer isn’t eligible because his father was never a citizen. You cannot have other allegiances if you want to be President.

We are not hypocrites, if Obummer is not eligible because of his dad, then Cruz is in the same boat.

There is a picture that has been posted around the web in several places that shows that BOTH of Cruz’s parents were registered voters in Canada in 1973. You could not be a dual citizen of Canada and another country until 1974. His mom would not have been a citizen then and couldn’t “transfer her citizenship” if she wasn’t a citizen of the US anymore. Even if she transferred her citizenship, it still would only make him a citizen.

The founders wanted someone with no other allegiances, they did not want King George III to have a child and have that child grow up to be President. You have to understand that Natural Born Citizen is a completely different class of citizenship than “citizen” and “naturalized citizen”.

Please don’t start insulting those of us that are questioning Cruz’s eligibility, 2 Harvard professors were debating it recently and they had 2 completely different opinions. It is NOT settled. If you notice, Cruz tells people that he is eligible because he never had to be naturalized, that doesn’t make you a natural born citizen, it just makes you a citizen. There IS a big difference.

Not true, Cruz was naturalized via the 1934 naturalization act and follow up legislation. Cruz, the son of a Cuban born in Canada is not a natural born citizen of the USA.

“Codswaddle. Ted Cruz was a US citizen at birth and did not need to be naturalized. He needed NO official act of the US government whatsoever.”

“needed NO official act”

We all need that, must have that. It is needed for job applicants most of the time.

If you are a male, when you turn eighteen you must register for the draft. There are consequences if you don’t. How would the government know your age in order to apply those consequences?

You can’t, by law, be born outside the United States, waltz in and announce that you are a citizen. All your life, you have occasion to verify who you are and date of birth and it has to be official government documents.

Cruz will not release his birth documents. Why?

Do you even listen to yourself? The Governor is a U.S. citizen so how could his children not be citizens? Secondly a CRBA needs to be applied for to ascertain citizenship - that is a naturalization process. The State Department makes the determination therefore NOT NATURAL.
