In his role as the donor class's darling, Marco Rubio has enjoyed support from the Republicans' media arm, Fox News. Throughout the primary, Fox provided Rubio with friendly interviews and key bookings, including the first prime-time response to Barack Obama's Oval Office address on ISIS. Many of the network's top pundits, including Stephen Hayes and Charles Krauthammer, have been enthusiastic boosters. Bill Sammon, Fox's Washington managing editor, is the father of Rubio's communications director, Brooke Sammon.
But this alliance now seems to be over. According to three Fox sources, Fox chief Roger Ailes has told people he's lost confidence in Rubio's ability to win. "We're finished with Rubio," Ailes recently told a Fox host. "We can't do the Rubio thing anymore."
Ailes was already concerned about Rubio's lackluster performance in GOP primaries and caucuses, winning only one contest among the 15 that have been held. But the more proximate cause for the flip was an embarrassing New York Times article revealing that Rubio and Ailes had a secret dinner meeting in 2013 during which the Florida senator successfully lobbied the Fox News chief to throw his support behind the "Gang of 8" comprehensive immigration-reform bill. "Roger hates seeing his name in print," a longtime Ailes associate told me. "He was appalled the dinner was reported," the source said.

Rubot swings both ways!
I AM NOT AN RNC ROBOT!
We really, truly need a conservative/constitutional television outlet. More and more, I’m enjoying reruns of older shows as opposed to watching the news channel that I used to look to for facts.
I fought hard to get Fox News in the Phoenix market in 2000. After watching their shameful “unfair and unbalanced” reporting I watch CNN. I know not to believe them. Megyn MUST go along with many others! I know what to expect with Hannity.
Riiight
Have they done any recognition of Hillary Clinton?
Ryan is done! Stick a fork in him. The Obama Funding Bill killed Ryan for me. Didn’t like him before, but that finished it.
i oann an actual broadcast station? or just internet sort of thing? I asked the cable lady on the phone the other day someone mentioned it, and she never heard of it.
maybe just not in my area yet?
That is a problem Ailes.....you just admitted to propaganda....just like the rest of the news networks people left for you.
So much for fair and balanced.
I am home from work today, and was watching Fox News off and on all day. I definitely noticed a change; the SwordMaker-Apple caliber pimping of Rubio seemed to be gone.
And them I saw this article.
You are making the assumption that they actually want to win against Hillary.
They have no compulsion to do so, it is not in their interest.
If they had all three branches they would be expected to get results and would be held accountable for those results. That’s not going to happen.
Also, how do you fund raise and campaign on red meat issues like abortion, 2nd amendment and immigration when you have all three branches?
You don’t unless you start eating your own, and that won’t happen in the GOP.
I have to get it via my Roku because TW does not carry it either. The Roku works get for many stations. OANN is an excellent news source only news reporting of facts until evening when they have commentary shows.
Do they really think, we want the loser Romney. I held my nose and voted for him once. I wont do it again!I sat on my hands the last time and I'll do it again.
Some numbskulls can say it would be a vote for Hillary. I say FU. If you have a problem with it this time you can lay it all on the GOP just like you should have done every time before.
“distinct change of tone on fox business today”
I noticed it last night, too, on FBN as returns were coming in. Cavuto continued to be snarky re Trump, but Dobbs, Varney, and many others were being respectful and honest.
Romney = LOSER. But I think you’re right; they’re bringing him in to (try to) beat Trump.
Maybe during the last four years he grew a backbone, balls, and brain. It could happen. not
Can I say balls?
So, that explains Hannity’s blasting of Rubio today. He got permission to open up. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Now I know Hannity is still the fraud he’s always been.
karma is a b-tch! Roger!
“GOPe planning a FULL ON scorched earth policy against Trump over the next two weeks”
I am worried about what the evildoers have up their sleeves for the next two weeks. Very worried. (I HATE THEIR GUUUTS!)
“I know Trump is a fighter but I hope he can survive this!”
I take a deep breath and remind myself that God is in control. (And I wear my Lucky Trump pearls.)
DOBBS has ALWAYS been for Trump!!!
I retweeted Murdoch.
That’s NOT what he said.
