He has brought the uniparty establishment, the donor class and the media together like nobody I have ever seen.

Wut.

He probably has helped expand the reach of the party to those who might not otherwise vote Republican.

But the claim that he has unified the GOP is a joke. I know way too many people who, if Trump is nominated, will abstain in November. Whther they are right or wrong doesn't matter -- the splintering - as opposed to "unification" - is undeniable.

Really? Because the “probably not” to “definitely not” is a lot higher than the “probably” to “definitely” when it comes to Republican voters saying they’ll vote for him in the general election.

"On June 16th, when we started this journey, there were 17 candidates.
I was told by everybody, 'Do not go to Iowa. You could never finish even in the
top ten.' And I said, 'But I have friends in Iowa. I know a lot of people in Iowa.
I think they'll really like me. Let's give it a shot.' They said, 'Don't do
it.' I said, 'I have to do it.' And, we finished second,
and I want to tell you something,

I'm just honored, I'm really honored."

This “unity” stuff is unsettling. Every time you hear the Right OR the Left talk about “unity” it ALWAYS means the Right HAS to move over to the Left.

I don’t want to see Mr. Trump start to turn left at some point here. Mr. Trump and the Right need to hold their ground and fight for America, the American People, and freedom, unity with the Left or not. Force the Left to CHANGE or DIE.

We saw from Reagan’s example that the way to bring in others is not by compromising on limited government and freedom but by CLEARLY COMMUNICATING THE MESSAGE of the advantage and desirability of LESS government and MORE freedom from government.

Reagan’s uncompromising MESSAGE resonated across party lines. Once he was in there, Reagan was a master negotiator holding fast to the 70% he would not budge on, letting the 30% go, but after the 70% worked so well, he’d also get the 30%. THAT is masterful negotiating and forced the Left to move to the right, not visa versa. The results were strength at home - unprecedented 25 years of economic growth and prosperity - and strength abroad - the collapse of the USSR, our greatest enemy at the time.

Reagan’s message never softened up on the Left, it intensified. He put high-beam spotlights on exactly what the Left represented and who they really were. The result was the Left actual began avoiding the term “liberal” because Reagan had shown Americans that “liberal” (Leftism) was actually a dirty word. BUT behind the scenes he was not antagonistic and would negotiate with them.

I hope these concepts are in Mr. Trump’s master plan.

You can say the same thing Sen. Ted Cruz as well, because remember, both are outsiders and sadly, many of the Republicans have gotten used to being beaten down by the GOPe.
