I don't believe TRUMP is running but for TRUMP and possibly Hillary.
I watched Cruz speech and it was mostly thanking his supporters and mostly positive.
I did hear Trump say that Cruz is the biggest liar he ever saw.
But they are still competing and one could hardly expect Cruz to say, ‘gee that Trump is such a great guy, I almost voted for him myself.”
BTW, did you and Sweetie really vote for Cruz? I can’t imagine you being disgusted by that great speech if you really did.

These trumpers are so emotionally invested in Trump, as you say.
They have some sort of mental picture of Trump as a man of the people who will make everything wonderful.
This is a comforting picture, hard to abandon. No worries, everyone. All will be well.
They find it hard or impossible to let any whisper of reason enter their brains. They simply cannot give up Trump no matter what he does, or what is revealed about him.

Right now Ted Cruz has to concentrate on saving the country from the disaster that is Donald Trump.
He will do much better about taking down Hillary than will Trump. I mean Trump loves her.
It is implicit in Ted’s history that he will fight to take back Washington. Remember, he doesn’t have any friends in the Senate. Trump said so.
