In order to defeat Donald Trump, The Weekly Standards Bill Kristol admits he is prepared to hand Hillary Clinton the Oval Office. On Wednesdays Morning Joe, the Republican Establishment leader laid out his plot to deprive Trump of the 50% of delegates necessary to secure the nomination. From there, the idea is to go into a brokered convention and cut a kamikaze deal that awards enough delegates to an acceptable candidate (who will have won far fewer votes, states, and delegates than Trump).
The problem with the Establishment brokering a behind-closed-door deal that hands the nomination to a Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% , is that the backlash against the Republican Party is almost certain to hand Hillary Clinton the presidency.
If a bunch of rich, angry GOP elites rob Trump supporters of their victory, the blowback will result in so many voters staying home in November, Hillary wins. As NBCs Chuck Todd pointed out last night, at this point the delegate math is such that the only way to stop Trump is through this scheme at the convention.
As youll see below, that outcome is preferable to Kristol, and by extension it is safe to assume that outcome is also fine with the rest of the Republican Establishment.

The gravy train cannot be denied!
Hell, yeah!!
Disastrous for the criminal elitists in DC and the media.
He's shining the light on the nefarious slime that has dogged this country for years!!
OK folks we all knew the GOPe would do anything to preserve their place at the trough. So this is the final sound and fury and knashing of teeth. I don’t see a brokered convention on the horizon especially after Trump took 7 states last night and is on his way to taking Florida and Ohio where he has been leading.
Now that Chris Christie has joined the fray and Rudy and Newt are advising Tump from the sidelines I look for them to start talking the rest of the establishment down off the roof. Look for Trump to tone it down a notch and start talking unity like he did last night. He will pick a VP candidate (my guess Kasich) who is a good party foot soldier and things will smooth out at some point.
The GOPe is grabbing at straws as they drown in their own $hit. This is the end for them. I don’t care what Trump stands for, or what his intentions are. He has done the Constitution and conservatives a favor by putting these traitors called GOPe in their place. I would have never believed we could purge our party of the likes of Ryan, Mc turtle, boner etc. but it seems to be happening. If Trump is forced into a 3rd party, he may get the majority of popular votes over the dems/repub and split the stranglehold of the “one party” system in place now.
Don’t know who “you guys” are. Can listen to rush to read the tea leaves. If you need rush to be an icon— you go right ahead.
The fact is this little pimp Kristol is quite simply an absolute smirking toadie to his paymasters... you know.. the ones in the “establishment” who work for the globalist NON-American NWO types... and who think an f’n TRAITOR like hitlery and her pervo husband are just fine.
They wanted YEB to run and lose to hitlery. Didn’t get that— and so this is the next way to get hitlery. These people are in danger of losing their lives if they keep this up— converting the US to a turd world banana republic in name only. No doubt krisol supports firearm seizure, but gives all the “code words” to slip into the big top tent. We aren’t buying this.
I hope the next TWS cruise ship sinks.
Gads these people are hell bent on thinking they are the only voice to be heard... more evil than I realized. They all take a seat in an area I had not placed them before.. and it’s way down the pedestal.. way down. They have had a place in that club for way too long... they have lost their ever luvin’ minds!
And 24 hours of talking heads, which is not “news” any more .. it’s 24 hours of gossip with those who have way too much importance placed on what they think. I’d really hate to have a job bringing up all the bad stuff about people.. over and over every day... gossiping and stirring up trouble every day.. over and over. You have to be desperate for a job or enjoy spreading gossip, to do sit there and do that. We used to believe “least said, soonest mended”.
Proving yet again the existence of the Uniparty, a leftist group composed of the entire Democrat Party and virtually all Republican Leadership.
DEATH TO THE UNIPARTY!
ATTACK!
What, exactly, is it that is Kristol’s line in the sand?
Mine was traditional values. What is it for Kristol and his frineds?
I honesty don't know.
Then, even if Cruz should win, be assured there will be no GOPe love for Teddy. They'll find someone to raise the ineligibility card 1-17. Biden will accept the challenge, and representing an independent branch of government, the Senate will vote to find Cruz ineligible.
Hillary wins.
The only hope is for Ted and Trump to read that handwriting on the wall after the convention and let Cruz withdraw to find himself a spot in Trump's administration (in payback to the GOPe).
Trump/Cruz win!

Except that as a businessman he had to get along with a lot of other businesses. Now that he is a declared politician you can more clearly see his conservatism.
He is likely not as conservative as you would like, but he has a lot of conservative positions. What position do you disagree with? Impostor? Pretty strong a term, you must know him better than I do.
If Trump falls short of 1237, and is denied the nomination even though he is overwhelmingly the peoples choice he may be able to splinter the party.
Most likely the GOP won’t steal the nom outright from Trump. They need some deniability otherwise the party implodes.
I see Senator Sasse is already bleating on twitter about supporting a “constitutionalist” 3rd party candidate. Interesting choice of words, IMO. Maybe he listens to Levin, I don’t know. They’ve obviously already poll tested this.
I suggest after the primaries, people switch to Independent. I cannot stand these elitists who think they know best and think our votes should not/will not count or mean a darned thing!
Did he have a stroke?
the kkk thing came from the clintoonian camp— already working their national campaign strategy. When in fact... the klan democrats ARE the clintoons. Unless your are Southern, most people do not GET this.
this is how hitlery “won” (with the 61% black dem vote in an open primary in SC) the SC primary. Head fake to the Lib— “oh the horrors of the klan”.... meanwhile offering the ‘gibs me dats” more scraps from the govt. plantation table.
This is who the upper klan actually is— demonrat machine, oh, and pro-muslim to boot. Because of course that is an old old alignment from before the 1800s. In the department of procurement of imported “labor capital”. Senator Byrd. Remember?
What’s most bizarre about this is the GOP think it’s a one way street here. Like Trump can’t do anything to return fire. Arrogance beyond the pale, IMO.
If Kristol et al fail at this, they will have destroyed the party. Idiots.

President-elect Barack Obama spent Tuesday evening at a dinner party with several prominent conservative columnists, including William Kristol and David Brooks of The New York Times, according to an Obama transition pool report.
Mr. Obama, who has been staying at the Hay-Adams Hotel in advance of his inauguration next week, arrived at 9 Grafton Street, an upscale address in Chevy Chase, Md., at 6:34 p.m. The Montgomery County property tax records list this address as the home of the conservative Washington Post columnist George Will, the host of the dinner party. Also attending the party was Charles Krauthammer The Washington Post. Together, some of the columnists at the dinner party have been some of Mr. Obamas severest critics.
Obama transition officials refused to comment on the dinner, saying that it was off the record.
