Donald J. Trump won sweeping victories across the South and in New England on Tuesday, a show of strength in the Republican primary campaign that underscored the breadth of his appeal and helped him begin to amass a wide delegate advantage despite growing resistance to his candidacy among party leaders.
Mr. Trumps political coalition with his lopsided victories in Alabama, Georgia, Massachusetts and Tennessee, and narrower ones in Arkansas and Virginia appears to have transcended the regional and ideological divisions that have shaped the Republican Party in recent years.
With strong support from low-income white voters, especially those without college degrees, he dominated in moderate, secular-leaning Massachusetts just as easily as he did in the conservative and heavily evangelical Deep South.
Brandishing his Super Tuesday victories as proof of his political might, Mr. Trump said he expected to consolidate the Republican Party behind his campaign.
I am a unifier, he told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., after the winners of about half the days contests had been declared. Once we get all of this finished, I am going to go after one person: Hillary Clinton.

Your numbers are the total delegates which include the 81 he had before Super Tuesday. Super Tuesday’s delegates received (excluding Alaska) are
Trump = 192
Cruz = 132
Rubio = 66
From you count, Trump must have lost a delegate. His total delegates (including the 81 he had before Super Tuesday) is 273. I am not trying to nit pick. It illustrates how fluid the delegate count has been tonight.
You picked up on that old NYT tactic of diminishing conservative voters. The Times never diminishes all those on the left who are so poorly educated they depend on a government check. The NYT is a left wing propaganda tool.
I said in a earlier post that Trump came into Super Tuesday with 81 delegates. I check the numbers and I was wrong. He had 82 delegates, so your total count is correct with 274 total delegates. That means, with Cruz’s 149 delegates, he has only 54% of the delegates Trump has.
I wasn’t being “snarky”. Here is your reply.
The emotional part of me is caught up in a hopeful sweep to victory by Trump, but the thinking part of me doesn’t like him, his politics, his life-style, his vulgarity; I just don’t like Hillary more.
That is pretty damn snarky.
Yes, several FReepers have already pointed that out.
What is snarky about what he wrote?
To me it sounds like he is writing straight from his heart.
I think that he is a social conservative who doesn’t like many of the things about Donald Trump the man. As a voter of principle who loves the country, though, he knows that Trump would be better for America than Hillary would.
I don’t see any snark there.
No it isn't. I'm sure glad I didn't say what I think of Cruz.
God bless Texas.
Except for Nevada, Trump seems to win East Coast states and lose out west. West of the Mississippi he has now lost Texas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Iowa, and Alaska while he has only won Arkansas and Nevada.
With strong support from low-income white voters, especially those without...” huge amounts of college debt.
There. Fixed it.

//// I did some digging and found this from 2006:
"Did Muslim Vote In Virginia Swing Senate Control"
'The Detroit Free Press reports Muslims played a critical role in the November midterm elections.
Imam Mahdy Bray, Speaking at a Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America convention in Dearborn, highlighted the effective effort to turn out Muslim voters in Virginia:
The effort was so organized that Muslim taxi drivers in northern Virginia took the day off to ferry Muslims to the polls, said Imam Mahdy Bray, a speaker at the convention. Volunteers also made phone calls to Muslims in Virginia to urge them to vote, he said.
As a result, Democrat James Webb ousted incumbent Republican George Allen by about 9,000 votes in a race in which 50,000 Muslims went to the polls -- 47,000 of them voting for Webb, Bray said.rol?(Nov 2006)

*********
For my money Senator Allen gets all the credit for running a losing campaign. Nevertheless, if 96 percent of Muslims are going to vote Democratic, that would make them a more reliable Democratic constituency than African Americans. Democrats consistently receive about 90 percent of African American votes.
The "Obama we" is always suspect. Why not be honest?
Dry humor, perhaps.
At some point Trump will ask if they believe in democracy and the will of the people.
“Her supporters think that she is honest and competent...”
I’m inclined to disagree. I would say her supporters are just as corrupt as she is.
“Proof that Rubio has the approximate brain power of cottage cheese.”
Hey - give they guy some credit - that’s a significant improvement over last year!
Deport ALL musloids.
He needs to start running against the National-Ex-Wife rather than Senator Cruz or that other guy. He really needs to begin hammering her.
Call her a criminal; give examples with detail. Then get ugly and compare her husband to Bill Cosby
Call her negligent and say that negligence killed ambassador Stevens. Then get ugly and ask if she would have rescued him if he wasnt gay?
Make TV commercial about the child rapist she happily defended.
Her supporters think that she is honest and competent; Trump needs bait her on these this like he did with the Schonged statement. Trump should rub their face in her dishonesty and incompetence.
.....
Totally agree...but not all at once. But there is so much material.
Not an issue FRiend, as I tend to be quite the wise ass after a couple shots of black jack :o)
