China takes Philippine atoll
Philstar ^ | March 2nd, 20016 | Jaime Laude

MANILA, Philippines – The Chinese have taken over another traditional Filipino fishing ground near Palawan where they have stationed up to five ships to keep local fishermen at bay, sources said.

Now effectively under Chinese control is Quirino or Jackson Atoll, which has been a rich source of catch for a long time for fishermen from Palawan, Southern Luzon, Western Visayas and even Manila.

Gray and white Chinese vessels have not left the atoll, which Filipino fishermen also call Jackson Five, because of the existence of five lagoons in the area.

The Chinese are claiming almost the entire South China Sea, including the West Philippine Sea. Manila is contesting Beijing’s claim before an international arbitral court based in The Hague.

Filipino fishermen lamented the Chinese vessels would not allow them to come near or linger in the Quirino Atoll.

It just seems so obvious Obama was molested as a boy and became the “receiver” in his relationships.

It is sad, but it's worse that he was ever elected.

That is an effeminate man.

In all cases greed or empowering our enemies {of which I would include China} were motives. Thanks for the links. We can’t continue on the path we are on. Reagan said Trade Partners not trade patsies”. That I can agree with but after he left it became very one way. We are now directly funding China’s military. Any money going to China is funding them. They are very patient. We are very stupid as a nation in our dealings with them and allowing our leaders to do what they have done.

The ChiComs and the Russians would turn on each other in a heart beat. Neither of these two will do anything that is not in the best interest of their own country.

Gee... What a novel idea.

The ChiComs and the Russians would turn on each other in a heart beat.

Certainly not anytime in the near future, given that both are currently on the move with us and our allies as the primary obstacle.

And that wasn’t a photoshop, but rather one of several times the saboteur-in-chief actually bowed to some foreign leader.

I've been saying for a long time that it is inevitable that the US will re-engage in the Philippines.

They got that nationalistic fervor back in the 90’s but the reality of Chinese expansion in the South China Sea has put a stop to that.

It will be interesting how the US handles this in the next few years. Regardless of who is elected President the US is going to come under tremendous pressure to keep the shipping lanes open and that is going to require a massive build up of US forces.

Before America starts a nuclear exchange we should see if China is just wiping out some islamo threat.

No way. If you've been paying attention -- and you have, because you're here -- then you know what the ChiComs are doing. Kinetic response time, this is gunboat politics behind a grab for the entire water column and the seabed, and everything below the seabed.

Can't slip the punch anymore. The Chinese need to get swept, now.

If it means that a big piece of the PLA Navy needs to go away, then so be it.

It’s the Chinese version of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Nope. No co- about it. It's the "just us" Prosperity Sphere. Call it Chinese "social Just-Us".

Your kind of isolationism went out with the "phony war" and "peace in our time".

Get real or watch Americans die in hordes.

Clinton and him did more to strengthen the ChiComs and weaken us than just about anyone.

Have you checked the status of U.S. nuclear stockpiles lately? We're down to about 25% of what we had when Slick left office. Barky's been busy.

Anyone checked recently to see what the U.S./ChiCom nuclear balance looks like? US/Sino-Soviet? Anybody? Links appreciated.

Cruz is well aware of the situation today. Trump, I'm not so sure about.

Ted Cruz on ISIS, Russia, Obama, missile defense, and the New START Treaty with Russia...

"If we want to actually dismantle ISIS, we need to dramatically change course. We need a real, robust campaign that maximizes our overwhelming air advantage.

We need to focus our efforts not on trying to create friends, but on supporting our real ones, especially the Kurds in Iraq and Syria who have actually had success against ISIS."

-snip-

"We can redouble our efforts to develop the defensive weapons that neutralized the offensive Soviet threat -- particularly missile defense, which has seen a 25% budget reduction under Obama, according to an analysis from the conservative Heritage Foundation, and has been constrained by bad arms deals like New START.

We should not only move quickly to install the canceled interceptor sites Putin opposed in Poland and the Czech Republic, but also to develop the next generation of systems that will only increase his discomfiture.

These options do not entail a ground war in Syria, yet would effectively shake us free from the failed policies that have brought us to our current impasse.

These options set us on a new path that puts Putin on notice that the United States is reclaiming our traditional role as leader of the free world."

"I think it would be a mistake to get involved in the Syrian civil war. There have been voices in Washington eager for us to send our sons and daughters over to fight that civil war for some time. I haven't been one of them. I think the touchstone of U.S. military policy should be protecting the national security of this country."

"What we're seeing Putin in Russia do is a direct response to the profound weakness of Obama over six and a half years.

Putin views Obama as weak, as ineffective, and frankly, as a laughingstock. And, as a result, he is moving in, he is invading his neighbors, like Ukraine, he's kidnapping Estonians, and he's moving into Syria to gain a stronger foothold in the Middle East."

Ted Cruz:
"We need a coherent plan to address both the specific crisis in Syria and the challenge posed more broadly by Putin's resurgent Russia.

The good news is that America still has options, if our leaders can summon the will to exercise them.

For starters, in Syria we can't double down on the failed strategies that have given Putin his opportunity to intervene.

We are now two years out from President Obama's proposed intervention after al-Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. ..."

DONALD TRUMP says he isn’t interested in the endorsement of David ...

"...when Trump was asked about the nuclear balance with Russia during the most recent Republican presidential debate, he displayed ignorance of the decaying nature of the U.S. nuclear triad, which constitutes our ability to deter and survive a Russian nuclear first strike.

"Putin has just presided over a ceremony honoring the KGB's successor agencies, and the Russia Today (RT) propaganda channel has announced the grand opening of a "cultural center" dedicated to mass murderer Joseph Stalin.

It looks like Putin has outmaneuvered Obama and Trump. It is an opening for Trump's opponents, especially Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL). But do they have the courage to "follow the money" and hold Trump accountable for doing business with a criminal regime that threatens the survival of the United States? At the end of this money trail, they may find an explanation of why Trump is so reluctant to hold Putin responsible for his crimes.
