MANILA, Philippines The Chinese have taken over another traditional Filipino fishing ground near Palawan where they have stationed up to five ships to keep local fishermen at bay, sources said.
Now effectively under Chinese control is Quirino or Jackson Atoll, which has been a rich source of catch for a long time for fishermen from Palawan, Southern Luzon, Western Visayas and even Manila.
Gray and white Chinese vessels have not left the atoll, which Filipino fishermen also call Jackson Five, because of the existence of five lagoons in the area.
The Chinese are claiming almost the entire South China Sea, including the West Philippine Sea. Manila is contesting Beijings claim before an international arbitral court based in The Hague.
Filipino fishermen lamented the Chinese vessels would not allow them to come near or linger in the Quirino Atoll.

The Philippines doesn’t have a Navy that can defend its waters against any nation.
Its useful only for counterinsurgency and smuggling patrols, and amphibious/logistics support for the Phil Army and Marines. And undersized even for that.
It has zero ASW and AA capability, and the biggest antisurface weapon its got are WW2 three-inch guns.
As an ex-Philippine navy ROTC cadet.
“Sales at Harbor Freight are way down...”
And also at Walmart.
There is no Islamo threat in those islands - they aren’t habitable.
So, what does the South China Morning Pest say about this seizure of apparent Philippine territory?
PING!
Sadly, the Philippines has no ships that can approach the Chinese undetected to deploy underwater demolitions men. It HAS a few of these fellows, but there is no way to get them there.
Time for us to leave Japan and Korea as well. Those troops would be better used along the border.
Well.......Maybe Obama will cancel his golf outing....lol..
Probably not..
Luckily, that area is uninhabited. Any girls out there they will have to bring with them.
> they arent habitable
Fair enough. I do know China takes no crap from islam trash like America does so they get a little slack.

So you would rather the Chinese and Russians take what they want while we are content to only protect the country from the Mexican invasion?
Harharhar...
No wonder this country is so screwed....
They are seizing the SouthEast Asian shipping lanes.
Look at a map.
This means they will be able to blockade most international trade for seven-eight countries, from Singapore to Taiwan. Thats an explicit threat.
Thanks for your posts in this very interesting topic/thread. BTTT!
The PI must regret us leaving Subic and Clarke.
What’s to stop them? ubama and Valerie Jarrett and John Kerry?
Yes.
They are desperate to get a US base now.
>This means they will be able to blockade most international trade for seven-eight countries
If they blockade goods going to islam countries, I am all for it. Starve the evil and feed the good.
The Russians and Chinese wont get everything they want. But I would be willing to let them try.
It’s not about habitation ... it’s strategic militarily
