Roger Stone: If Rubio Loses Florida, ‘Abundantly Clear Mitt Romney Is Waiting In The Wings’
Breitbart ^ | 03/01/16 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 03/01/2016 1:34:53 PM PST by Enlightened1

Republican campaign veteran Roger Stone tells Breitbart News Daily host Stephen K. Bannon, “I have reported, and I stand by this, that a number of the billionaires who are funding

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)
79%

have told him that he has until the Florida primary on March 15th to show some leg. If he cannot win his home state primary, it will be very hard to continue to justify his campaign. At that point, I think it is abundantly clear that Mitt Romney is waiting in the wings.”

Stone continued:

Notice how Romney is suddenly tweeting all the anti-Trump tweets? So, he’s been quiet for months and now he’s suddenly carping about Trump’s tax returns. Now he’s carping about this phony story about David Duke, who Trump has no truck with whatsoever. I think Mitt gets into those late primaries … in an effort to soak up votes. The purpose here is not to defeat Trump overall. It’s just to stall him on the first ballot.

“Here’s what they say,” said Stone, when asked to describe the reaction of powerful Republicans, “we have to stall this guy short on the first ballot. We’ve got to stall him just short of the magic numbers.”

He goes on to point out that with delegates free to vote as they want after the first ballot and the establishment picking delegates in many states, such as New York for example, Trump could conceivably lose as many as 100 votes on a second ballot, opening the door for Romney, or another challenger.

Wow. Trump MUST be the candidate we need if this many ultra-rich folks are terrified of him. Wow.

Romney has about as much chance of beating Trump for the nomination as Cruz or Rubio at this point. Probably much less.

However, if he plays nice, there might be a cabinet position in his future.

Well, how interesting, that the GOP-E wants to steal this nomination.

I am not endorsing anyone as of yet. But, just saying, I would expect the nominee to be the one who is chosen through the primary/caucus process. If that is Trump, then what can anyone say, if he was freely chosen by Republican voters???

How the heck would they justify stealing the nomination of someone who had that support from Republican voters across the country, in so many states? See what happens tonight, but it’s possible Trump wins just about every state.

But the GOP-E think they know better, they want to give us retread Mitt Romney, and expect us to be excited about the fall election?????? Really??????

Romney has to know he will get chopped into little pieces by Trump. On the other hand Romney getting in would be good for a lot of laughs.

Rubio is probably not going to win any states tonight. Then there are a whole string of primaries on March 5, 6, 8, and 12. It looks like he wasn’t going to win any of those. Then there is the WINNER TAKE ALL contests on March 15, and it’s doubtful Rubio will win FL, or any other states that day as well.

Mitt Romney’s only mission.... is to Lose.

Amazing given the fact that Romney has 0 delegates. Has not one a single State.

So that woukd bring the total to 17 candidates that Trump chewed up and spit out.

That woukd also be good for a new chart. Gilmore will be happy to be included in six rows of three. He had to be left off when it was 17.

Oh yeh republican voters will flock to vote for the choke artist one more time. I’d vote for Putin before I voted Romney again. I gagged the first time.
