My dad has short fingers... he had rheumatic fever when he was young and nearly died. It nearly killed him and stunted his growth. He worked in construction and we had cows and horses. His arms looked like Popeye’s and he could throw hay bales like they were made of Styrofoam.
My wife’s dad was built like that also; he was a decorated WWII through Vietnam Army enlisted veteran. You didn’t want to provoke him ever... ever... During Vietnam he was one of those mean old WWII era drill sergeants, but he cared about the men and I am sure what he taught them helped many survive.
