Why Trump Is Winning
Newsmax ^ | 2/26/2016 | Scott Rasmussen

In a time where voters believe that all of official Washington is corrupt, the notion of having a president who doesn't owe anybody anything can seem enticing. Besides, many voters concluded long ago that it doesn't matter whether Republicans or Democrats win.

In either case, the political insiders are the real winners and the nation is the loser.

We've seen this storm coming. Three presidents in a row came into office with their party in control of Congress. Each time, unhappy voters expressed their disapproval in midterm elections by putting the other party in charge of congress.

Never before in American history has that happened to even two consecutive presidents.

This is a fundamental rejection of both political parties.

The rise of Donald Trump as the Republican front-runner is another expression of this frustration.

Conservatism is a label that has been used by people who don’t do conservative things i.e. Ted Cruz and Rubio.

The current state of the fedgov is a festering open sore of diseased gangrenous flesh on what was once a vital healthy body politic. Trump may be a metaphorical maggot, but some times you need a maggot to strip away the rot before the restorative healing can begin.
(Would post pics of maggot debridement therapy, but it’s dinner time)

“Because that is the ONLY OUTCOME now possible, given Trump’s polling numbers through Super Tuesday.

The ONLY WAY Cruz can win at this point is if Trump TOTALLY COLLAPSES and pulls out...and I’m not even sure on that - Trump may still win.

So, even if some Cruz supporters have good intentions, they are acting as ENABLERS of the GOPe, given where we are now.”

I know Cruz will not be the nominee. And illegal immigration is a huge problem. It’s easy to be for illegal immigration when you’re not affect by it. Again, at least for now, Trump’s position on it is 100% right. I agree with Trump’s current position on it. And both parties have been unresponsive to the public’s concern on this issue.

But there are too many other things about Trump that is cause for alarm. Conservatism is more than just controlling the border

“It is also a repudiation of conservatism.”

Correction, it’s a repudiation of conservatism as defined by what the illusionists have been pouring into the snake oil bottles for years and years.

It is a repudiation of the conservatism of McCain, ¡Yeb!, Graham, Flake, Rubio, and all the rest of the flunkies of The Cheap Labor Express.

None of the other candidates spoke of deporting illegal aliens and left that ground open for Trump.

Very clear understanding! The take-away here also needs acknowledge the media's role in classifying this group of dweebs as "conservative."

"The rise of Donald Trump as the Republican front-runner is a fundamental rejection of both political parties."

I totally agree.

Note that one of the very few powers that the Founding States actually delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, to regulate an aspect of INTRAstate commerce is to manage the U.S. Mail Service (1.8.7). In other words, most other federal domestic spending programs are unconstitutional imo.

Such programs were likely established by corrupt lawmakers, imo, in order to win votes from low-information voters, voters who are clueless about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.

So the key question concerning political parties is how many political parties does it take to manage the U.S. Mail Service?

I say none.

Since both political parties wrongly ignore the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, the Constitution needs to be amended to prohibit political party support of federal elected officials imo.

Conservatism has failed people for over ten years. Conservatism needs to be retooled so that it produces something here. Right now conservatism is an untested academic exercise.

Conservatism is truth. Truth never fails. People fail.

Someone has to be the captain of a ship, true. But a ship with all captains won't go very far. I dare say Rush Limbaugh has done a great deal for conservatism without ever running for office. That's not his role.

Why haven't you won a political office? Why aren't you President right now? If Rush is a loser for not running for office, what does that make you? Spare me the excuses. I guess your role is as a whiner.

“Conservatism is more than just controlling the border”

NOT IN THIS ELECTION - we lose border control in this election, we get 30 MILLION NEW DEMOCRATS. Future elections will be all Democrat - we will LOSE EVERY OTHER ISSUE.

That is why Trump is winning (it sure has heck is not his support of Planned Parenthood) - and that is what the GOPe TOTALLY MISSED when they pushed Jeb...Jeb actually wasn’t bad on most issues - but as Jeb learned the hard way, immigration is the ONLY ISSUE that matters, for this election. We’ll deal with the others after the illegals are cleaned out.

`Insanity’ is doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results.
Almost thirty years after Reagan, millions of Americans are finally saying, “My party left me.”

“Why do Trumpers assume that because you have reservations about Trump you support the GOPe or open borders?”

Because Rubio supports every bit of that.

Cruz’s position H1B visas is an open border stance except it replaces middle class jobs instead of working class jobs

Neither Cruz nor Rubio have really ever worked anywhere but government. They are insiders

There are no candidates beside rump that are not GrOPe or open borders

Shouldn’t conservatism be tried first, before it has been said to have failed?

Despite our disagreements about Trump(and I understand his rise), alot of what you posted is right. No country survives by flooding it with cheap labor from the third world of which many don’t want assimilation. See Europe as a perfect example. And, like you said, the establishment parties kept the borders open despite the people in this country telling them to stop. The Democrats want to use the illegals to continue to prop up a failing welfare state, and the GOP want the cheap labor. The rest of us lose

May I, GilGil?
ad hominem (`to the man’)
Tu quoque Latin for, “you also”) or the appeal to hypocrisy is an informal logical fallacy that intends to discredit the validity of the opponent’s logical argument by asserting the opponent’s failure to act consistently in accordance with its conclusion(s).

Tu quoque “argument” follows the pattern:

Person A makes claim X.
Person B asserts that A’s actions or past claims are inconsistent with the truth of claim X.
Therefore X is false.

Or, because you have not delivered upon the things politicians have failed to deliver, you cannot be heard to complain;
Or, if your french fries are cold, go back in the kitchen and cook them yourself.

Don’t be ridiculous. I don’t claim to be the know it all of conservatism like Limbaugh and Levin. They are the preachers no for close to two decades and do not have much to show for it. If conservatism is so hot they need to run for office and show us how it is done but they have not. Now that they have made it and are making tons of money they will stay where it is safe.

Limbaugh has said many many times that conservatism wins every time when you try it. If this is such a shoo in Limbaugh needs to get out there and risk himself except he will not.

Limbaugh is having a meltdown because he is afraid of losing his audience. That is his game. He needs to get out there and lead but he won’t. He would lose too much money. So would Levin and Hannity.

Get real!

Please give me some good reasons to doubt the conventional wisdom that Trump doesn't have a chance against the Hildebeest and will bring good Republicans crashing down with him in the general, not to mention losing the senate and ushering in a new leftist to the SCOTUS.
