Marco Rubio Pushed for Immigration Reform With Conservative Media
New York Times ^ | Jason Horowitz

Posted on 02/27/2016 6:33:55 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

A few weeks after Senator Marco Rubio joined a bipartisan push for an immigration overhaul in 2013, he arrived alongside Senator Chuck Schumer at the executive dining room of News Corporation’s Manhattan headquarters for dinner.

Their mission was to persuade Rupert Murdoch, the owner of the media empire, and Roger Ailes, the chairman and chief executive of its Fox News division, to keep the network’s on-air personalities from savaging the legislation and give it a fighting chance at survival.

Mr. Murdoch, an advocate of immigration reform, and Mr. Ailes, his top lieutenant and the most powerful man in conservative television, agreed at the Jan. 17, 2013, meeting to give the senators some breathing room.

Robot Rubio has been hyper lately, yapping nonsense like a lap dog. Did he forgot his meds or did he take the wrong ones? Both he and Cruz acted like spoiled brats during the debate.

The debate was their Battle of the Bulge, their last offensive, and it failed. In three days, that is to say on Tuesday next, it will be over.

...sounds to me like Rubio was SILENCING THE MEDIA.

Something for the TDS people to think about, when they bleat about Trump wanting to HOLD THE MEDIA ACCOUNTABLE...in other words, your candidate is NO BETTER.

“just another wing of the amnesty establishment.”

Like Trump, who also pushed for “comprehensive immigration reform” in order to reach out to “Hispanics and Asians” and blasted Romney as being too tough on immigration and blamed it partially for his loss:

Rubio is not an “anchor baby” - his parents were legally in the United States at the time of his birth. That meets the definition of Natural Born Citizen - both by the definition of the phrase at the time it was written (the English common law definition) and also by adjudication in the courts. “Anchor baby” refers to babies born to people not legally within the United States to try to allow them to stay by virtue of the fact their child is supposedly a citizen by right of birth...a matter that has actually never been fully adjudicated.

“...sounds to me like Rubio was SILENCING THE MEDIA.”

this is absolutely deceitful Washington and the corrupt media at its very worst !

One story in private. Another in public. Private, secret agreements to not cover stories. This sounds just like Obama’s court stenographers covering or ignoring stories as their master wants.

Rush needs to explain himself.

“have told them to go bonkers”

You mean act more like Trump has acted throughout the entire campaign? He set the mode of the dialog...so you aren’t enjoying it when the other candidates do it?

“make Trump look bad”

He’s done too well of a job of that himself. Praising Planned Parenthood repeatedly, blasting conservatives and what we stand for from the campaign stage, routinely using foul language, vulgar insults, and innuendo showing no reverence or respect for the office he seeks, constant flip flopping on the issues, etc.

Rush was anything but supportive of the Gang of 8 bill...it doesn’t appear he was swayed in the least.

And of course so do you... he speaks of the non abortion arm of PP. But accuracy wouldn’t make your case colorful enough either, would it?

Rubio’s parents were not citizens when he was born. He is an anchor baby.

Knowing Marco Amnestio as we do in Florida, I paid particular attention to Rush and Levin, (I can’t stomach Hannity) when they had that traitorous backstabber on their shows. Just as the article said, both Rush and Levin allowed Marco and his cheap labor express cohorts to accomplish “Their mission ... to persuade ... [and] to keep ... on-air personalities from savaging the legislation and give it a fighting chance at survival.”

I distinctly remember screaming at the radio, wondering why Rush wasn’t challenging Marco at all. Why they seemed to believe everything he said. It’s not amnesty because they have to pay a fine? Telling us things were in the bill that we would like which never were actually in the bill. Not to mention the daily ads I suffered through on Limbaugh’s show, paid for by Mark Zuckerberg, with Marco telling us that conservatives love amnesty.

The on air personalities were duly instructed to keep their mouths shut and they including Limbaugh obeyed to the detriment of our nation’s sovereignty.

You remember correctly. Rush & Levin ran interference for this punk Rubio throughout that time.

“Rush needs to explain himself.”

I agree - but don’t hold your breath. I suspect anyone trying to get through on that subject won’t get more than a few words with Snerdly (who was also as turned off by this stunt ass the rest of us).

Everything that Rush has stood for in this campaign was making perfect sense and totally consistent with him - except an UNEXPLAINED SOFT SPOT for Rubio.

Rush literally FORGOT about the Gang of Eight when Rubio announced. Rush kept saying that Rubio speech proved how much he ‘loves America and how he understands everything about America and its greatness’. And yet, RUBIO led the charge to turn this country into a SINGLE-PARTY CESSPOOL.

Rush just may be getting old. He’s pushing 30 years in his role, it is VERY DIFFICULT to stay focused on anything (other than Socialism) for that length of time.
