Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Donald J. Trump on Friday, a major turn in a wild race and one that gives the New York businessman a major boost as he heads into the pivotal Super Tuesday contests.
Mr. Christie was a candidate himself until he came in sixth place in New Hampshireâs primary. But his backing of Mr. Trump comes after weeks of him saying that it was time for the âentertainmentâ portion of the race to end, and as he had said that the type of executive leadership that a governor has is important.

“Take into account Trump has never, ever run in an election before “
Well, he has a YUGE experience buying politicians and the influence. He knows things inside and out.
Btw, wasn’t he running/primary for presidency back in 2000 under the Reform party ticket? So, he was running for presidency before Rubio was off his diapers.
Secretary of mHUD probably...
Well I like Cruz but cannot stomach Romney and neither do I like Rubio. However Cruz did not endorse Rubio, he just said he would be better than Trump. I agree with that. Trump is like voting for a fart in the wind that sings whatever tune you want to hear. I have no idea what he stands for except to belittle people and act like a bratty kid. He changes his position as fast as a baby needs a diaper change.
He says he want to build a wall and deport people but yet says they can come right back in. What is the point then?
Cruz is saying he prefers Rubio’s Gang of 8 and Obamatrade to Trump. I never realized we had so many FReepers supporting amnesty and Obamatrade but I guess politics makes strange bedfellows.

the late great Justice Scalia grew up in Queens, NYC near Donald Trump (and near me actually). New York values.
There is nothing wrong with coalitions. It's how 13 very different colonies with different values and cultures defeated the British Empire.
Almost as greasy as a Clinton-Sanders ticket. The visuals, the visuals of a feeding trough on the Right.... and the organic vegan trough on the left— all of them RIPPING US OFF, and all ignoring the Constitution.
Because Southerners just love liberal yankees like Christie?
I am going ahead with the VP selection, IMO. It will not be Christie but I do believe Christie just became Attorney General in the new government. As trump said on media this morning he wants and need “government experience” and someone that could take his place if needed. There is only one person that fills that bill. Newt Gingrich !! I am predicting Newt as our new VP!!
Also Hillary Criminal will select Bernie Sanders as her VP. There is absolutely no one else to select out there. NOBODY!!
“Wants VP consideration?”
possibly, but throughout the debates, Christie all but begged Trump for AG, and Christie would be hell on wheels as AG in my opinion.
And Monday Huckabee will do the same.
Trump was interested in politics but never actually done it - sort of like being into Fantasy Baseball and then running the Yankees and doing a decent job of it .
Given the way Trump bragged about having sex with other men’s wives in his books, I can only imagine what “position” he has Palin “slotted” for.

I could see Christie VP and Rudy AG, planning for a Christie prez run in the future (Rudy’s time has passed on that).
If Christie, then the thought might be a Trump/Christie ticket can swing NY and NJ to the GOP. If that happens, with the traditional GOP states remaining the same, can’t see how the Democrats get to 270 Electoral Votes.
“And you’re gonna vote for them because the alternative is too horrific to contemplate.”
I believe that was the same choice that Dole, Bush, McCain and Romney gave me.
I am so very tired of that crap.
Thank you for remembering Hillary is the opposition. I’m a Trump advocate but had Cruz gotten the nod I would have been behind him 100% (ok, 99% anyway). We are not each other’s enemies - we didn’t get Bush because we stuck together, others have fallen by the wayside - we now have Trump, Cruz, Rubio. Let’s hope one of them will be President but they WON’T be if those who want the one not nominated say “well, he wasn’t my choice so I’m not voting, nyeh”.
First, Trump is the only one who will round up and deport ALL illegals. Then they will go back in line, and WE GET TO CHOOSE who can come back.
That is different than this career politician from Canada:
Despite Cruzs attacks on his partys donor class and establishment, the Texas senator Ted Cruz^s GOP campaign has received $37 million from just four donors. The Wilks family of Cisco, Texas, New York hedge fund tycoon Bob Mercer, Texas energy investor Toby Neugebauer and Illinois manufacturing moguls Dick and Liz Uihlein.
This just makes Christie more of a hippocrite than he was before.
Actually, many respected Christie’s shutting down the punks arguing over legislative details. Very few Trump supporters “smeared” Christie.
Not exactly, but Southerners love a good fight and Christie will bring it to the foam-boy like it hasn't been brought since he got arrested for trolling a gay park in his youth.
The fat lady is warming up. From the looks of it, Super Tuesday is going to be a bloodbath of YUGE proportions for Trump.
I like that thanks
