Louie Gohmert: Ted Cruz the Candidate ‘With the Most Integrity,’
Breitbart ^ | February 25, 2016 | KATIE MCHUGH

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3401920/posts

Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) cr96% explains why he’s endorsing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)cr97%, telling Breitbart News Daily host Stephen K. Bannon Cruz consistently fought to stop amnesty during his freshman Senate term.

“Everything Ted did... was to slow down [Gang of Eight] and hopefully give us a chance to stop the bill that Rubio was now the face of. So that made it easier to endorse Ted. But, you know, Ted’s integrity — you may disagree with him, you may dislike him — but his integrity was his strength. When you’re in the political game, what you’ve got to do is continually attack their strength,” Gohmert said.

It’s been “hard” to watch GOP frontrunner Donald Trump continuously attack Cruz as a liar, Gohmert said, hinting that retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson also disappointed him when it came to honesty.

“Seeing Ted attacked, the guy with the most integrity in the presidential race, and that includes Ben Carson — I know Ben, I love his positions. He’s a fellow believer. But I also know different things behind the scenes that have gone on and that’s why I supported Ted.”

Trump got attacked on both sides (Cruz and Rubio) and came out on top. The focus was on Trump for most of the debate.

The numbers reflect that.

Well that is what matters. How many supporters a candidate has.

A wall with a door that only nice people can come back through.

Well, Trump seems to think having no criminal record is enough to come back in, and he didn’t say that citizenship was off the table when confronted.

The perspective you describe is a nice “hope,” but I do not believe it is supported by evidence from Trump at this point. I would have been happier if he had come out saying the “good ones” will never get beyond “guest worker” status.

Cruz, who has held a different view until the past two weeks, was correct in his interpretation of our laws not allowing offenders back in, but it’s never effectively enforced. Cruz at least said he would enforce that, finally.

I am in the slightly unusual position of knowing how that law reads.

Define the parameters of what specifically constitutes objective points/scoring in a debate.

Follow the Leader! Vote Trump!

The Drudge poll,,, where the bandwagon mob goes for reassurance,,,,

Actually, your snarky attempts at humor (or were you trying for insightful?) are misplaced. The results of the Drudge polls seem to be positively correlated with the results in the primaries, thus far, as well as the preponderance of the polls. It is not Trump fans who need reassurance. The results thus far are quite assuring, at least for those who care about the countries future. I suspect it is those who suffer from a hysterical derangement at the mere thought of Trump, who might be well advised to seek reassurance. Where they will find it ... that is another question entirely.

Well, I am a Trump supporter, after having been a Cruz supporter, early on.

The attack was on Trump...The moderators, each of them, would ask Trump a question...After his answer, they would ask Cruz and Rubio what they thought of Trumps answer...

How fixed is that????

I agree if the polls didn’t allow people to vote more than once.

Trump won, Rubio looked like a Chihuahua, and Cruz destroyed himself. Carson did well and Kasich was actually more tolerable than the yapping Rubio.

Trump wins big Tuesday.....

Spot on about the Drudge polls being reflective of the primary results.

Clearly Trump won’t get 67% of the votes, but it will be interestingly accurate if he gets close to 67% of the delegates next Tuesday.

Trump wins no matter what else happens on personality alone.

He stands so much taller than everyone else on that stage in terms of I am going to kick your as$ leadership.

What we have is a bunch of people running for the position of leader while having zero leadership skills or qualities against another person who oozes leadership skills and qualities.

They are all, unfortunately for them, very small and quiet. They just don’t stand out.

People just gravitate to Trump as a result.

Hillary will run into the same problem. Not a leader, no leadership skill, not likable at all.
