A New York Times columnist tweeted a joke about assassinating GOP front-runner Donald Trump -- and then deleted the message and apologized. The 1983 Paramount Pictures film "The Dead Zone" Ross Douthat tweeted Wednesday night, "Good news guys I've figured out how the Trump campaign ends" along with a clip from a little-known movie, "The Dead Zone."
In the 1983 flick, Christopher Walken plays a man who can see the future and knows that a US Senate candidate, portrayed by Martin Sheen, will eventually become president and start a nuclear war....

Hopefully the secret service will pay that idiot a visit. Its not okay to talk about assassinating Presidential Candidates.
Do primary candidates get Secret Service protection? or is it only for nominees during the general election?
Well, Trump likes to joke about Murder or Killing someone in the middle of fifth avenue, so ....
And he is still employee?
I have been saying for a while that the only way to stop Trump is with a bullet, and that you can be certain the Washington swells are giving that option serious consideration.
Imagine the same story, except with Trump’s name replaced. Whether you put in the name of a traitorous druggie-socialist from Kenya/Indonesia/Hawaii/Chicago, or the name of a lesbian felon, the mainstream media would freak out. If not for double standards, the anti-American left would have no standards at all.
I wonder what the reaction would have been if someone from a Conservative publication had tweeted a joke about killing Obama, or Hillary Clinton
Trump and Carson have Secret Service details. Obama had one almost from day one as a candidate.
Trump has had SS protection for awhile
The media are the ultimate evil
It’s not just a domestic threat. China or other foreigners might want to.
It would be top story on every news program for 24 hours and every republican in the country would have to go on record to denounce it.
Bear in mind that Douthat is very conservative. For all we know, someone at the NYT was the source of the story.
Who ever this person is should be a lot more circumspect. Really who wants the Feds crawling up their butts?
Did he say anyone specific ? No, he did not ...nice try though ...next
They don’t like that dead zone movie because their favorite Hollywood president was a button-pressing populist president in that movie. Wait, maybe that is why Martin Sheen is doing ads playing off his tv president character right now because they plan to put that character away to promote the dead zone Sheen president character in the near future to paint him as being Trump? Sounds crazy til I’m proven right.
What an idiot.
Coming around to the dark side? :)
