Former Mexican President Vicente Fox says his nation will not pay for Donald Trumpâs proposed border wall.
âI declare â Iâm not going to pay for that f---ing wall,â he told Fusion's Jorge Ramos during an interview Thursday. "[Trump] should pay for it. Heâs got the money.

Notice that it's no longer "There won't be a wall."
Now the argument is "Who is going to pay for it."
The deal is already going Trump's way!

People might think it is funny but I feel sorry for Americans caught in a place like Mexico with Trump trying to extort them.

He most likely has a wall, well guarded, just like Mexico's borders are well-guarded and they have no qualms in denying immigrants from their southern border entrance, at gunpoint, unless it's to fast-track them through to the US.
Why does no one talk about this? Has even Trump mentioned it, Mexico's hypocrisy and strong border enforcement?

Is Trump bluffing? No I don’t think he is.
As President will he have the power? It’s already law, so yes.
Are we actually giving that kind of money to Mexico? No. And congress won’t give it to him either.

I feel about as sorry for them if they don’t get out, as I do for the idiots who keep going to Iran. You can’t fix stupid. Probably Bernie supporters anyway.

A while back a Freeper here suggested a 10% tax on all cash remittances from the USA to Mexico.
That should get the fence done in style !

it will also force Mexico to adapt, deal with corruption, and give the underclass options that go beyond âGo North, send your money back homeâ.
Exactly.
For decades, Mexico has willingly let illegal immigation exist because the elites view it as a pressure valve release of sorts.
If all of the illegals now in the US started agitating in Mexico, it could set off a revolution that the govt and elites would not be able to stop.
To: Rashputin
If the not so well off and uneducated are stuck in Mexico then Mexico knows they will have a revolution there, thus they want to send them here while they enjoy their lavish lifestyle.

Taxing remittances are just fine if they use a bank. But they’ll just switch to money orders. USPS and check cashing joints sell tons of them to Illegals now.
All we have to do is send less foreign aid.
$209 B(+) disbursed to Mexico in foreign aid in 2012.

Funny the current President of Mexico could not be reached for comment.

You know that you’re over the target when you start catching flak.
Trump, you magnificent bastard, you are dead on target here! Keep up the good work!
As far as Vincente and the rest of his corrupt fellow Mexicanos are concerned: Well, bless your hearts.
Yeah, you’ll pay. Don’t worry, you won’t have to suffer the indignity of actually cutting and signing a check...President Trump will get Congress to pass an excise or withholding tax on the remittances that your peasants working in the U.S. send back to Mexico. We’ll take it out automatically, and there won’t be a thing you can do about it. Y chinga tu madre if you don’t like it. :>)

Ok we will pay for the wall. And we will send you bills for the millions of illegals here receiving government funds and for those in prisons costing billions a year here. How is that for a deal?
