Straight Talk I am a Ted Cruz supporter, but I want to say a thing or too to my Republican brothers and sisters...indeed to all of my American brothers and sisters...about Donald Trump. I hear many people, analysts, prgnosticators, and politicians trying to explain the Turmp "Phenomenon." They go to great lengths about all sorts of things when it is really pretty easy and straight forward. It's a three bullet point explanation:
Say what you will about the man. Call him irreverant. Call him angry. Call him a braggart. Call him whatever you want. Most people already understand all those types of things about him...and they are getting behind him anyway because of those three very direct points I just mentioned. He has opened the doors wide on issues that most Americans think about...and offering solutions that most American people have already thought to themselves. Now those same Americans are finding out that the right person does not have to be politically correct. The right person does not have to be politically spit and polished. The right person simply has to be believed. Let's just look at five pretty big things real quickly:
As I say, I am a Ted Cruz supporter. I believe Ted cruz would make all of these things happen as well, and ahs simlarly good plans for them. I intend to support Ted as long as he is in the race...and to the nomination if we can get there. But I also believe Trump is a very capable individual who can make these things happen too...and so would support him in a heartbeat if he wins the nomination. I also talk to a LOT of people. I know Black Americans who voted for Obama and feel very let down by him (with good reason...life for many Black Americans is worse under Obama than it has been in years), who will be voting for Trump.
I know Latino Americans whose parents or grandparents (or themselves) came to this country legally and who lean Democratic, but who will be voting for Trump. Why? It is precisely because they want illegal immigration controlled and believe Trump will actually do it...and not just pay lip service to it. They also believe that his economic policies will make life better for them and their families. I know many people in New York who are excited about Trump's prospects for putting New York in play for the GOP...and I believe he is the one GOP candidate who could do so. Seriously, I think the prognosticators, analysts, and career/establishment politicans simply do not get it. And so I think that what they are going to "get" is a big fat surprise. I honestly think that Trump may have the ability to pull together a large coalition capable of winning in a big fashion...something like we have not been seen since the 1980 and 1984 Reagan victories. And what is intrersting...if you remember it, or if you study it...it would be for very similar reaons and addressing very similar cicumstances. Is Trump mad or angry? Perhaps about certain things he is. But you might also call it rightously indignant or frustrated as well. But guess what? So are a LOT of Americans! Trump is speaking to that, and he is doing so in such a way that the people are inclined to give him the opportunity to make good on what he is saying. And if he does get the nomination, and if he does go on and accomplish these things... Well, get ready for eight years of a major turnaround and America becoming great again...in the eyes of its own citizens, and in the eyes of the world. Jeff Head

If he is the nominee...I will work just as hard for him as I would if Ted Cruz got it.
Same here Jeff, I just hope those Trump supporters will
feel the same if Ted should be the nominee.
The alternative, a Clinton/Sanders regime is the
bell tolling the ruin of our great experiment.
America doesn’t have to be made great again,
it’s never stopped being great but liberals
were ashamed to be part of it, and so have
been apologizing for the last 7 years.
I am a Cruz supporter who does not trust Donald Trump.
However, if he is the Rep nominee, I will crawl over broken glass to vote for him. The alternative is that bad and truly scary.
His main strength is the ability to handle the media. The next Republican POTUS will receive all the blame for the horrific failings of the Obama Administration. IF he can defenestrate the propaganda wing of the Democrat party (the media), that will be good enough for me.
I think you’ve said in a good way what many of us have been trying to convey.
If people would look at what he is actually pushing right now instead of ignoring it while they dig 30 plus years deep to “Nail him” on something, they would realize what you say is true.
The man is one of us. I’m not as temperate as I ought to be. I am righteously indignant about what is taking place in our nation. Trump is representing me, and he’s probably going about it in a way that I and my drinking buddies would wholly support.
It’s time to man up, put on our big boy pants, and take it to the Left. Nobody is going to do that with more resolve than Donald J. Trump.
Support your guy. When you join us to push Trump over the finish line, I’ll be here to welcome you.
Well done.
Barriers To Trade Growing July 6, 1985|By R.C. Longworth, Chicago Tribune
``We exported some textiles, put them on a ship. When they got there, the customs point at that port had been closed, and the ship had to go to another port 1,000 miles away.`
Don Hughes, chief financial officer of Burlington Industries, the nation`s biggest textile company, is talking about how world trade really works.
``When the ship got to the other port,`` Hughes said, it found a tiny, one-man customs point, and that one officer was under orders to inspect every yard of textiles that came through him.
``Well, something like that can extend your delivery a couple of months. By that time, the customer is fed up, and he cancels the order. It only takes a few of these to ruin a market for you.``
Really appreciate you taking the time to do this. Thanks.
Awhile ago I suggested that the RNC understand Trump's base and incorporate it into the platform for any Republican presidential candidate. I was assuming another would get the mantle.
Sadly, their man, jeb simply took opposing or appeasing positions on the big issues Trump thrives on, like border security or uncontrolled muslim immigration. He sounded like bernie light and was obviously sucking up the crumbs he would gain in votes from those special interest groups.
Since the RNC and their establishment candidates won't learn and are having a hissy fit over the outcome, it is time to clean out the their offices and start over. That is why jeb is gone. Preibus should follow.
Thoughts on what Kerry said about trumps tax returns and comments on blaze please
We are of like mind.
I agree with everything you said D-One
I do believe Cruz has the record and the background to do similar things...and he has gotten in the GOPe’s face time and again when no one else would do so.
He also has the very strong constitutional grounding I want.
Having said that...Trump is taking the fight to them in such a way that he is attracting what I ultimately believe ill be a far broader group of people.
The result of that may well be to put the Progressive/Liberal/Socialist internal enemies down very hard electoral...and we NEED that.
Thanks for what you have done. Hope you don’t mind but I posted a link to this on another thread.
Good work!
Thanks Jeff.

By the by, have you noted a complete absence of our weekly mass shootings, as it was back when Obama still thought mass shootings could prompt gun control? Nothing in December, January, February....
Things that make you go, HMMMMM......
heheheheheheh
Well done, Jeff, and agree.
Thanks for putting it all together.
I do not need to go there.
People are going to dig and scrape and try and find anything they can.
I have read all of the GOP candidates Tax plans and believe most all of them would be good.
I believe Trump’s plan will in fact help the tax situation greatly, and I believe it will particularly help halt the massive hemorrhaging of Corp America and its jobs off shore.
As for the Blaze...well, although I like many things that he brings up regarding the constitution and the moral fiber of the nation...he has gone overboard (IMHO) in his stance against Trump.
Yes...Trump has issues...we all do. But Trump is not Satan incarnate, and all of the things I said above will give him the chance to be a great president and the leader of a massive turnaround if he becomes the nominee and then the president.
If he does he is going to need all of our support...for the sake of our nation, our families, kids and grandkids.
The Blaze will reveal itself wholly counterproductive and damaging to the future of this nation IMHO if it goes so far as to suggest, encourage, or imply that people should not support Trump should he be the nominee.
Please do! The more the merrier. Tweet it...FB it...email it...etc.
Well...there was the Kalamazoo shooting...but there are some real oddities about that one.
Travis McGee has posted some intriguing thoughts on that.
You’re right, Kalamazoo. But that one looks a lot different than ALL the other, ‘more prepared’, mass shootings.
I will vote against the democrat ......
