Newt Gingrich: GOP Establishment 'Living in Fantasy Land' Over Trump
Newsmax ^ | 22 Feb 2016 | Sandy Fitzgerald

Donald Trump is "far and away the front-runner," for the GOP presidential nomination and the establishment is "living in a fantasy land," by denying that big changes are happening, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday.

"Trump is tapping into something in the country that's real," Gingrich told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.

"If you take Trump's vote and Cruz's vote and Carson's vote -- the three outsiders -- they are once again at about 62 percent in South Carolina, and they have been consistently above 60 percent everywhere in the country. If you pull together all of the insurgents, there's a message there."

Further, Gingrich said that Trump is by far the party front-runner, and the real tests are coming for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to win primaries in their own home states.

"He has vastly more delegates," Gingrich said. "Can Rubio win Florida? Right now Trump is winning Florida. How well does Cruz do in Texas? Trump is a national player and he's strong everywhere."

Oh, they get it alright.
They’re fighting against it.
The stunning defeat of Cantor (I helped) was about amnesty.
Keeping Cochran at all costs was about amnesty.
It’s all about amnesty and keeping the Cheap Labor Express running.

Most of the RNC/GOP is owned lock, stock and barrel by The Cheap Labor Express.
They have been actively working against the wishes of the people for decades.
Enabling the illegal alien inundation while giving lip service to national security.
GWB reduced border and interior enforcement AFTER 9/11.
Kay Bailey Hutchinson defunded the Secure Fence Act with an amendment in a subsequent bill.
They will burn the party to the ground rather than let us elect a President who would enforce the laws.

They are arrogant, they are far from stupid or clueless.
They have been playing conservatives for years and years.
We have only had amnesty candidates since the last amnesty.
It wasn’t accidental.

You sized the situation up perfectly. You sound like a caller today on Rush Limbaugh show. Said about the same thing.

I’ll vote for any candidate willing to uphold the rule of law.

There are only two, unfortunately.

Polls show both Cruz and Rubio beat Trump in head to head match-ups.

ROFL. If they couldn't beat him among a field in which the establishment candidates combined didn't get a fifth of the vote, then they can't beat him head-to-head.

“He said that Trump had been planning his run for president for the last 3-4 years.”

Seems I heard someone mention that Trump had had people in SC for a year.

Good idea. I was thinking Newt for Chief of Staff, but SOS is good, too. More powerful and glamorous for sure.

Good grief. Again with the Trump-Hitler comparison. Why don’t y’all just create a vanity thread entitled, “TRUMP IS HITLER”, and be done with it? Or we can stipulate that, yes, many FReepers believe Trump is Hitler and then you don’t have to continue posting it.

[sigh]

If you do not understand why people would NOT vote for Rubio, then you don’t understand the Establishment/Globalist.

Hillary and Rubio like Jeb are all Establishment/Globalist. They are both Globalist. I know you think it’s different because Hillary is a Democrat while Rubio is a Republican. It’s like saying all conservatives are Republicans. It’s not true.

So the choice would be one Establishment/Globalist vs. another Establishment/Globslist. There is no choice in other words and the Establishment/Globalist wins. Hence, why people say they will not vote for Rubio.

“I was thinking about this and figure, based upon what has been posted over the last few months, is that there will be very few FR poster showing up at the polls in Nov.”

I’ve been around these parts for a long long time, and I would guess that very few FReepers won’t show up at the polls.

...Regardless of what they say now.

#1 - Not only is it too late but GOPe candidates will not suddenly repudiate what they have been running for.

#2 - You cannot destroy success by lying about it - notice it hasn't worked so far because folks understand business restructuring.

#3 - The only major serial liar in politics has been Cruz - Trump is a converted businessman who had just become a politician and has put the others to shame on the issues and his ability to smack down the media.

#4 - Where have you been? - That page of the playbook is old an failed.

Gingrich is 100% correct.

Anyone, that denies this IS living in Fantasy Land.

Furthermore, they CLEARLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND the difference between a Establishment/Globalist and someone that is not.

They can true to address the problems facing blue collar Americans and Whites men in general.

#2 - You cannot destroy success by lying about it - notice it hasn't worked so far because folks understand business restructuring.

Trumps business model is to get PR hypes and government help, make money, then go bankrupt when the bubble bursts.

#3 - The only major serial liar in politics has been Cruz - Trump is a converted businessman who had just become a politician and has put the others to shame on the issues and his ability to smack down the media.
Where did Cruz actually lie?

#4 - Where have you been? - That page of the playbook is old an failed.
Nope. No one has called him a con man who fogets his lines. Most don't even call him a liar or fraud

They are arrogant, they are far from stupid or clueless.

That's not quite true. When it comes to what the majority of the population will go to the mat over, ignoring party lines and hot buttons, they are stupid and clueless.

Your point that they're arrogant is the key. They've manipulated public opinion and told voters, "take it or take worse", for so long they no longer even bother to find out what the public is really thinking. They just focus on a set of things they've been told will work as hot buttons and leave it at that.

They're no longer aware of the fact that they can all, both parties, be swept away in a heartbeat if public opinion takes a radical turn. Public opinion has taken a radical turn and they can't deal with it as anything other than some sort of temporary glitch in their usual game.

The powers that be, democrat and republican alike, have fought incestuous little battles for so long that they're inbred to the point of deformity and insanity.

“Polls show both Cruz and Rubio beat Trump in head to head match-ups.”

“Then WHY are they not ahead of Trump. That notion is just silly.”

It’s not silly at all. 3 is not head to head. Cruz and Rubio are splitting the anti Trump vote.

Heard Eric Erickson on Fox Business this afternoon and he said there would be no way he’d vote for Trump. Said he’d for third party. When asked if the third party was Bloomberg, would he vote for him, he said no. Idiots like Erickson and the GOPe will never learn!

This seems to be the newest GOPe meme today. Slowly but surely GOPers are coming out of the woodwork saying this. And this, after decades of them telling us that we HAD to vote with them for the Doles, McCains, and Romney's. Now all of a sudden, THEY are the ones saying it's ok to opt out this year. The most critical election in history. If they indeed do sit this one out, then they not only throw their hissy fit, but in doing so, are killing the very party that they've cajoled us to vote with the last few cycles. Because no one will ever vote for their GOPe picks again.

Disclaimer-2 : I've posted "many" complimentary photos and posts at Free Republic admiring Donald Trump's great ideas and courage

If it quacks & walks like a Duck ... it must be a Duck" ...

Isn't that a New York proverb ?

Donald Trump "occasionally" sounds like Putin, Mussolini, or Hillary chatting with Vince Foster ...

It's a damn frightening thing ...

I hope that all those Trump-supporting "Conservative Evangelical Christians" are praying their butts off ...

Never said he was Hitler, but he is using the tactics of Hitler. His followers are using his tactics. I for one do not believe Trump hates Jews, or anyone, except those who oppose him. I believe he is capable of any tactic, any lie, any avenue, implied or functional to reach his goal, and if you believe it’s to make america great again you are living in a fantasy world.
My question is ‘is there any line that Trump can step over that you would say that’s to far?’ I think Trump supporters are not thinking, they are reacting to the fear and anger and betrayal of the GOP/Dems.
As I have said before, nothing says FU you like GO Trump.
