Erickson: I'm never voting for Trump
Politico ^ | February 22, 2016 | Nick Gass

Erick Erickson will no longer support Donald Trump if he is the Republican presidential nominee, the conservative pundit declared on Monday, citing in particular the Manhattan businessman's support of Planned Parenthood. "I have become convinced that Donald Trump’s pro-life conversion is a conversion of convenience," he wrote in a post on his website, The Resurgent. "Life is the foremost cause in how I vote. Therefore I will not be voting for Donald Trump at all. Ever."

That’s what is annoying. Everyone wants a fighter but can’t stand the fight.

Yes you will Eric. As soon as Cruz is done and Trump make the obvious point that the logical successor to Scalia on the SC is Justice Ted Cruz, you will be right back on the bandwagon.

SC Justice Ted Cruz is an easy sell for President Trump.

Just remind the Senate that the Cruz is from Texas in a safe seat. They can kick him over to the Court or they can spend the next 40-50 years with him in the Senate. They will vote to confirm him.

To the American people you point out that the Court has tilted left and it only makes sense that the next Justice be a solid reliable Conservative like Cruz to keep the SC Court from swinging out of balance.

“. . . Trump blazed the trail . . .”

You do know that Trump is an insincere charlatan, don’t you?

I was not going to vote in 2008, but I was shamed into it. I voted for McCain. Same thing happened in 2012. I voted for Romney.

I’m done voting for lizards. Since this race started, I said there are only two candidates I’ll vote for: Walker and Cruz.

This has not changed, except walker is no longer running. This leaves Cruz. If he drops out, I’ll write in Pat Paulson, buy a gallon of gas and a fiddle.

Does anyone other than Erick and perhaps his mother give a sh*t?

A Republican candidate can’t go after Conservative candidates the way Trump has done and expect Conservatives to turn out in the general election. Romney made the same mistake.

But it's just peachy when they go after Trump, right? Because that's justified......suuure!

[Cruz won’t build a wall, he’s a liar. He’s been in office for many years and the first time he started talking about it in any meaningful was after Trump blazed the trail and made it “acceptable” to say. He doesn’t forge new paths like Trump has he just follows (or maybe he’s leading from behind)]

That’s a lie. Cruz supported building a wall during his Senate run. At that time, Trump was supporting amnesty. Trump also is on record opposing a self deportation strategy by sitting off benefits and jobs to illegals.

Fine Erickson, keep posting your preferences so I know what to avoid, you ass. Remember this, you once said one needs be a pragmatist. So, I guess this makes you a hypocrite. Pragmatise this: not voting is the equal of voting for the greater evil to the republic, unless of course you are for Hitlery or the uniparty.

Now, during the primaries is the time to support your idea of the perfect candidate. When the final candidate is chosen, your responsibility as an American and as a patriot is to support the candidate that most closely supports the conservative and constitutional ideal.

Taking your ball and going home to not vote is immature and yes, I will question the patriotism of one who does so.

The choice is easy right now. Clinton, Sanders or whoever else the democrats shove in their place is wrong for America. They have proven it over the last 20 years that they hate our country and are not worthy of our vote. As another poster noted, a non-vote is two votes for them.

You will never, ever find the perfect candidate. Was Dole perfect, Romney, absolutely not. McCain? No way, but any of them would be far preferable to Clinton and Obama.

No different than going after any other RINO. Going after RINOS has always been fair game here on FR. Why should Trump get special treatment?

Part of America's problem are the people that vote for self, not for country. This ""Life is the foremost cause in how I vote. Therefore I will not be voting for Donald Trump at all. Ever." is a State issue,; between a woman and her doctor issue; frankly, abortion is such a grey area....think of the thousands of fatherless children, the unwanted children...making a child is almost as easy as making conversation these days

“It will not deserve my support and will not get it if it chooses to nominate a pro-abortion liberal masquerading as a conservative, who preys on nationalistic, tribal tendencies and has an army of white supremacists online as his loudest cheerleaders.”

“It will not deserve my support”???

He evidently thinks his support actually means something in the grand scheme of things; that all of us have to genuflect to his greatness and look up to him to see if he is pleased with our decisions.

“a pro-abortion liberal masquerading as a conservative”

Trump has spent his entire life as a businessman. The type of liberal label that this fool is trying to attach to Trump would ONLY fit a politician who has been spent his entire miserable life running for office and trying to jam his beliefs down everyone’s throat. Trump has NEVER done that.

“who preys on nationalistic, tribal tendencies and has an army of white supremacists online as his loudest cheerleaders.”

The Constitution enshrines nationalism as the way to preserve our liberties. I have no idea how this fool thinks it can be preserved otherwise: through the United Nations?

You can find anything on the internet. Only a FOOL would make decisions on important issues based on what the flotsam of society thinks about an issue.

oh no! The election is lost!

The election is not what I’m concerned about. I’m concerned about the country. When I bought my “bug out” property, it was two weeks before the 2008 election. I thought McCain was going to win.

I moved there in 2011 and tripled the size (now 32 acres, 2/3 woods, with two creeks). I never liked guns. I now have five and will soon have seven, no two for the same purpose.

If this comes down to a Trump vs Hillary (or Bernie) race, I’m getting LOTS of ammo. This whole “kicking the can down the road” fiasco is about to run out of road.
