Yes you will Eric. As soon as Cruz is done and Trump make the obvious point that the logical successor to Scalia on the SC is Justice Ted Cruz, you will be right back on the bandwagon.

SC Justice Ted Cruz is an easy sell for President Trump.

Just remind the Senate that the Cruz is from Texas in a safe seat. They can kick him over to the Court or they can spend the next 40-50 years with him in the Senate. They will vote to confirm him.

To the American people you point out that the Court has tilted left and it only makes sense that the next Justice be a solid reliable Conservative like Cruz to keep the SC Court from swinging out of balance.

I've seen this proposed several times now by Trump supporters. Yet Cruz and his legal team clearly disagree with your candidate on the issue of NBC. Why do so many Trump supporters praise Cruz' legal abilities but won't take his word on this when he feels that the issue is settled law?

They will vote to confirm him.

I doubt it. Cruz has made too many enemies in the Senate with his abrasive, go-against-the-establishment style. I suspect a lot of Republicans will give him tepid support but won't do the heavy lifting needed to get the nomination past a tough cloture vote and ultimately through the Senate. Several Republicans would probably come out against him.

Cruz would have a much better chance of becoming Attorney General in a Trump Administration. The Senate is much, more likely to defer to a new president with a cabinet choice than with a Supreme Court seat.

I don’t think a presidential candidate can legally in a campaign promise a Supreme Court appointment or any other federal job to anyone.
