Cruz Campaign Apologizes to Marco Rubio for Spreading False Bible Story
Breitbart ^ | 2/22/2016 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 02/22/2016 6:02:54 AM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Rick Tyler, the Senior Communications Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), issued a public apology after spreading a false story reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) made a nasty comment to a Cruz staffer about the Bible.

"I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today," Tyler wrote on Facebook after sharing the false story online. "The story misquoted a remark the Senator made to the staffer. I assumed wrongly that the story was correct."

The false report indicated that Rubio said that there were "not many answers" in the Bible -- when in fact, Rubio commented that "all the answers" were in the book of scripture.

Tyler indicated that he communicated with the Cruz staffer in the video, who explained that Rubio had made a "friendly and appropriate remark" about the Bible.

"Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct," Tyler wrote. "I've deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake."

"It would be better if he invited Cruz for a dinner with thanksgiving."

>>I should have checked its accuracy first.

Isn’t this the same lesson he said he learned from Iowa with the Ben Carson “wrong” report?

He’s the ONLY candidate to have apologized for anything.

Trump says he doesn’t even need to repent to God.

You think Cruz is the only one who has made mistakes here? Or is he the only one you hold accountable? Including your own candidate?? I’m seriously wondering.

There is nothing to walk back. You have made inaccurate statements repeatedly.

You are a liar. I’m done with liars.

A lot on FR have problems with hypocrites and I can quite well understand it!

Now, nobody is perfect. But the Christian who is striving to be real will tend not to look like a hypocrite.

I support Cruz, but his campaign is being run like a circus of idiots. Nothing at all like the campaign he ran for Texas senate...

Observe which candidate the college "newspaper" that shot/captioned/and posted the video is evidently focused upon:

"Wish we knew what book he was reading (perhaps Ted Cruz's A Time for Truth?) Comment below and take a guess at what you think he was reading."

Symptom of Trump Derangement Syndrome to blame Trump for a Cruz-Rubio campaign dustup, in which Trump has zero participation and for which Cruz camp has apologized.

Irrational.

Seek help.

Back to desperation, again. I say I have proof that Cruz promulgated a malicious, premeditated lie. You scream, “Liar!”

That is rank desperation. Sad to watch.

You are the one who needs to seek the help, which is God.

Yes, Cruz is responsible for his reaction to Donald. Still there is such a thing as folie a deux.

>>I say I have proof that Cruz promulgated a malicious, premeditated lie.

The fact is that the LIE for this "false Bible story" began with the yellow journalistic efforts of a college newspaper whose animosity towards Cruz is self-evident given the subtitle they added  - combined with the comment they published:

"Wish we knew what book he was reading (perhaps Ted Cruz’s A Time for Truth?) Comment below and take a guess at what you think he was reading."
http://www.thedp.com/blog/dpolitics/2016/02/marco-rubio-encounters-cruz-campaign-in-hampton-inn

Then when they later found out is was the Bible - they tried to spin it into a Two-fer that slimed both Cruz and Rubio.

Update: 2:18 a.m. on Feb. 21: A Cruz staffer just confirmed that the book in question was a Bible

Why don't you just admit they were obviously targeting CRUZ?
