COLUMBIA, S.C. - Hoping to rebound from New Hampshire's crushing fifth-place finish, Sen. Marco Rubio's campaign is preparing to finish third in South Carolina.

"To leave here in the top tier would a really nice comeback," a Rubio aide said, adding that some internal polling suggested it could even be a close race for second.

But critics - especially the Ted Cruz campaign - suggest that spinning a third-place finish into a "victory" is questionable, especially after Rubio netted the endorsements of Gov. Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott and U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy.

"He's got the top three endorsements in the state," said Alice Stewart, a Cruz spokeswoman. "If he can't win here, the question is: how can he win anywhere else?"

The Rubio campaign counters that it's still a six-person race....

Polls for a contest that is 8 months from now are less than pointless. They’re only good for one thing: Pushing a narrative.

She has NEVER been up against some like Trump.

She won’t be able to backpeddle fast enough...

He’ll show America the criminal that she is, the enabler of serial sex-assaulter husband, illegal foundation funding, beholden to Wall Street, in too ill health to do the job, anti-Israel, etc., etc., etc.,

Uh huh.

>>Not with this negatives, he won’t.<<

The thing is, the election is not being held today. If Trump wins the Republican nomination, he proves himself a political genius, because everything about his approach goes against what was supposed to be possible.

And he is winning against a STRONG FIELD. Really, look even at the also-rans, JEB and Kasich, much less contenders: Rubio and Cruz. All of these are stronger candidates by far than Hillary, who, if you will recall, almost lost her un-losable NY Senate race to a nobody and is now struggling to defeat an unreconstructed 75-year old communist.

My point is that Trump will move into correct strategic position to win the general election. He cannot be defined by opponents or the media, as much stronger adversaries than Hillary or Bernie have tried and failed.
