From what I understand, Cruz only leads on terrorism for those to whom terrorism is number one issue. For most people, economics is probably number one.

The “womens’ movement” was pure evil right from the start, in the late 1800s until its modern start with Better Friedan’s “The Feminine Mystique”. Abortion, lesbianism, hatred of evil patriarchal men and commiepukedom are its foundation.

George Orwell wrote about how the word “fascist” lost all meaning during the Spanish civil war because it was used by just about everyone (he know, socialists and anarchists) to describe anything that was unpleasant: “That fascist waiter is sure taking his time ..”
Today it may as well have the Amish meaning of “plain”: “Ja, dat Karl he is plain. And steady.”
As you say, the problem is, the word conservative has been degraded to the point where it pretty much means, “not liberal or progressive’” so it doesn’t really work as a term anymore. It could describe anything or anyone from immigration to Lindsay Graham.
I’m thinking of trying to revive the term “fascist”. It’s got snap, it grabs people’s attention, and the sharp, even scary, sassy & classy uniforms were real babe magnets.
