I want to be very decent tonight to all fellow FReepers. But how could Cruz say he didn’t sling mud, when he did, he did say certain things about Trump that were patently false. I heard him say them and I knew that was a really obvious twist and out of context take on something Trump said, and Cruz is smart. He knew what he was doing. And he could have left out the part about himself not slinging mud from his election night speech with no loss. But he dared say it, which I find not honest.
I’m sure some people like his granny “bless his heart” eyebrows up, preacher style speeches. But at least be honest in them.
Senator, you are being called out daily on one thing: honesty. You’re a good Christian. Please pray about this. Maybe there is something to this critique, and you could begin to make an extra effort to be honest in your campaigning. It would NOT hurt you.
If Cruz can’t beat Trump AND Rubio in SC with a 73% evangelical electorate he never was going beat Hillary in the general. Sorry. It it was it is.

I watched that cell phone video (taken at Carrier& went viral on YouTube). It was heartbreaking. Those are skilled, American workers...I think the avg tenure was 17 years. So many of the older ones will end up in retail. Lose their house. Life changes that are hard to swallow. I vividly remember when LTV Steel (J & L). People just “left” Braddock, Hazelwood. Abandoned their homes. Businesses closed. EVERY damn thing changed in months.
Not every job is white collar. We are killing the middle class with companies leaving. Trump hit a nerve w/man Americans. And THAT post hit my nerves.
Hank, when you attack Trump followers...We really are all in this together. We feel passionately and its hard not to spill over but remember we have to pull together at the end. We all have buttons, I’m sorry Trump is pushing yours but I resent being called all kinds of names for supporting him.

Well said, I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been for Trump since day 1, always liked Cruz, although I do question him now and then, everyone else can just go home.
But I have never before and never will trash someone else because I don’t like the candidate they support. Everyone is entitled to his own opinions. I just wish a lot of other people would do the same. After all that’s what the golden rule is all about, treat other people the way you would want them to treat you. That includes presidential elections.
I REALLY want trump to have a GREAT VP who can carry America’s recovery forward for at least SIXTEEN YEARS. If that means a TRUMP/CRUZ ticket, so be it. Whatever it takes.
I don’t want Trump to make the same mistake Reagan made by picking a VP he thought he needed to win the election Bush Sr. wasn’t needed and became the vanguard of the undoing of all that Reagan had done.
Of the 3 speeches, do like Cruz’s the best, he does better when he sticks to the issues, being an equal opportunity mudslinger doesn’t seem to do him well.
I think if Trump wins he may tap Christie for VP because he will feel he can win NJ.

Bottom-line. Trump has said hundreds of times that he will repeal and replace Obamacare. The replacement plan will not be dictated by the WH. It will be Congress that must come up with the replacement plan. Obamacare was put together by committee with many compromises and deals among the Dems and special interests. It is a sausage making exercise.
