McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone, which at the time was an incorporated US Territory and sovereign soil.
Forgot that part, thanks for posting.
lol bzzzzzztttt try again
So, if two Americans are on vacation in England and the woman gives birth in England, that child could not be president?
>>BTW, a child born outside the territory of the USA is not therefore also born âoutside the jurisdiction of the United Statesâ and can naturally inherit citizenship via the parent(s). No statute law necessary.
And where in the Constitution does it say that children born to US citizens outside of the US are automatically citizens. It doesn’t, it does however say that in the naturalization laws enacted by Congress.
Wish I had seen the IN post earlier I would have watched. Third on.list is out 9th district representative. He has had problems getting his name on ballot. Not enough signatures
Thats not why he was a natural born citizen.
He was born in Panama a territory of the US while his American born parents were stationed there in the Navy.
Except his conclusion is false. The only way persons born in Panama become US citizens, even if they are born of citizen parents, is by naturalization. Same is true for all the other US territories, including Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam.
When are you people going to get it through your head.....legal opininins in a separate case set NO precedent, and carry no more weight to another case then a legal footnote.
Yep. We have only had 44 Presidents out of billions of people. We should at least keep it that you have to born in America. I have two kids who were born overseas and I don’t think they should be President. Sorry but it’s not like millions become President. 44 out of billions. Not everyone can be all careers is that unfair?
This will be a quagmire for cruz.
As written in the 1958 Immigration law, birth in Panama Canal Zone was considered U.S. territory.
I can't wait until Cruz deposes Trump.
But Cruz won't have the chance, of course, because Trump will never sue Cruz. Trump is a paper tiger in an empty suit. And someone finally called his bluff.
Rulings don’t occur in a vacuum. Judges look for why decisions were made as well and are very unlikely to overturn another SCOTUS decision.
“Common law” vs constitution. Geeeeze
Yes, I’m aware. But if it wasn’t for the fact that the Canal Zone was a US Territory at the time, he couldn’t be considered an NBC.
