Scalia's Son Denounces 'Hurtful' Conspiracy Theories About Father's Death
Townhall.com ^ | February 18, 2016 | Leah Barkoukis

After news broke that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia had passed away in his sleep, and that an autopsy was not ordered, it didn't take long for the conspiracy theories to begin swirling--especially after the owner of the ranch where Scalia was found dead said he had a pillow over his head.

Scalia's eldest son Eugene has had enough, however, saying it's been a 'hurtful distraction' for the family while they are mourning.

"It's, I think, a distraction from a great man and his legacy at a time when there's so much to be said about that and to help people even more fully appreciate that. And, on a personal level, I think it's a bit of a hurtful distraction for a family that's mourning," he said on Laura Ingraham's radio show.

While many, including veteran detectives, raised eyebrows over the fact that an autopsy wasn't ordered, people must respect the fact that the family also didn't push for one.

"He was a month shy of 80 years old. He lived this incredibly full and active life, but I knew, and he knew, that he was at a place in life where he could be taken from this world at any time," Eugene Scalia added.

"Our family just has no doubt he died of natural causes. And we accept that. We're praying for him. We ask others to accept that and pray for him," he said.

"[My father] would have been the first to tell you," Scalia continued, "that we're from dust, we return to dust, your life could be taken from you at any instant."

The justice's funeral will be held Saturday at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

Agreed. The conspiracy theorists need to cut it out, if only out of respect for the Scalia family. Get a grip, people, and show some respect.

Referencing Breitbart: There’s always coincidences, but...

Remember the only witness who saw Breitbart collapse disappeared

http://www.wnd.com/2012/05/now-a-witness-to-breitbarts-death-disappears/

And the Coronor who completed the autopsy died of arsenic poisoning

I wasn't suggesting there should not have been an autopsy.

So. I take it you think the LA coroner lied about Breitbart's death cause?

All coroners lie about autopsies......of course.......

Why don’t you read up on that family’s background and Eugene Scalia’s track record before you make a comment like that.

Their ill advised decision not to perform an autopsy on their father will forever haunt the Scalia family.

It’s strange? He was 20 miles from the next house. A guy who people here say he should have retired for medical reasons (79 years old is too near death? Then where are they in the case of Ginsburg.?), goes to a remote place with no family members no friends are mentioned and without a doctor. He’s so ear death no one checks on him until the next afternoon?

All arguments are filled with stupidity

You are on the right track, but ...

I don’t want us to lose out on top notch supreme court justices because of their age, especially since a revitalized economy will resume progess in healthcare. So an age cut-off is not only arbitrary but also not forward thinking.

Presidents will always factor in age — a given.

However ....

Term limits for supreme court justices along with other reforms to negate the damage that the supreme court has caused.

Then Scalia could have retired without guilt, spent more time with his family, and written dissents at his leisure — sold them as books in fact.

Referencing Breitbart: I had the great honor to have listened to him, and then meet and talk with him three weeks before he died. I still have his book.

One thing I will say, I did not know his age until he died. I was certain he was closer to 60 than 50, and when I found out he was more like mid forties I was shocked.

Let's just say that for me, it took away the willingness to believe he didn't die of natural causes.

It's also true that his family said he had some serious health issues, and they don't believe the conspiracy theories either.

Unfortunately, nothing is obvious to me, Nor to the Judge, nor the signing physician - As no officials witnessed his death. No offical witness the body.

Just because someone is 80 does not mean they died of a heart attack in their sleep. Honestly, no one will know. They assumed he died of a heart attack - that is the fact here.

To me, that is unacceptable, considering how much of our country is as stake based on one man alone. And personally, I think we are living in some strange times and a lot is one the line in the next year. Doesn’t help the conspiracy theories that the SC just shot down Obama’s CPP, EPA baby (5-4)

Are you forgetting Sotomayor, who he nominated and appointed in 2009 and Kagan in 2010. There was no reason to appoint anyone else.

Here is a list of judges appointed by that arrogant pos

List of federal judges appointed by Barack Obama

I hope you realize that he can not appoint anyone if there is no vacancy.

Do not say what I think. That’s a severe intrusion

I’ll answer your accusatory question to make it clear after your accusation. But stop presenting my thoughts

Scalia was a public servant. His pay came from my tax dollars which are considerable I might add. I

My point is that conspiracy theorists will not believe an me but that’s no reason to not do one and it is not the reason they didn’t do one in this case

We are not talking about the guy who owns the deli down the street. His death or for that matter anyone of the conservative supreme court judges death leaves a vacuum that when filled could unbalance the decision making and effect America and Americans for ever.
