'And he's got an awfully big wall at the Vatican, I will tell you.'
Trump reiterated his months-long contention that 'we're going to build a wall, and Mexico's going to pay for the wall. And that's the way it is.'
When Cooper reminded Trump that 'people do come and go through the Vatican, and it's open to tourists,' Trump pounced.
'They're going to come and go through the wall' he will erect on America's southern border, he said, 'but they're going to come and go legally. And that's what I want, and that's what a lot of people want, obviously.' The global leader of the Roman Catholic Church told reporters early Thursday en route to Europe after a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border that 'a person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not in the gospel.'
Minutes later Trump had taken a harsh line, saying the Pope was 'disgraceful' for declaring he was not a Christian.
But he shrugged hours later, suggesting that 'somehow the government of Mexico spoke with the Pope, I mean they spent a lot of time with the Pope. And by the time he left he made a statement.'
'I didn't think it was a good thing for him to say, frankly,' Trump jabbed.
'I don't like fighting with the Pope. I don't think this is a fight.'

What is suspicious is that he said it 2 days before a key primary vote. Trump has been saying it for a long time. Granted he is just now visiting Mexico, but still. Is he ignorant of the fact that we are in the midst of primary season and his comment would be big news, aiding two Catholic candidates?
Maybe he is just too dumb to know that. I just doubt it. Again, I don’t want Trump to win. I think the Pope should butt out.
Irregardless.
If Trump had any class at all he would he have simply said, “Well, that is his opinion.”
But, Trump could not help himself.

That was not just an attack on Trump, it was an attack on Americanism, and all of us.
LOL. You’re an artist.
This is not a kids game. We had a president for 8 years who let people lie and debase him. The pope was way out if bounds and trump called him on his hypocracy. I want more of this whether it’s the pope or not
absolutely! thankyou for that rare wisdom and insight.

I bet it is the first time a reporter asked him about it concerning Trump. Have you read what the reporter asked him, and his whole answer? I think it was not the swiftest either, but it seemed to me he didn’t seem to know much past what the reporter ‘informed’ him of it.
As far as Trump, I’m just not sure America is ready for the first orange president.

Ooooh, creepy Catholics alert! What are Bush and Rubio REALLY up to??!
What a joke.
And while this Catholic thinks the Pope is a jerk, let me remind folks who don’t travel much that Vatican City is not an entirely walled city. A huge portion of it - St. Peter’s Square, anyone? - is completely open to the public. Been there many times.
Trump is a low life thug. He will never get a vote from this conservative nor anyone else that I know.
Send the Pope back to the hell he came from. The SOB has no sacred bone in his body. He is just another communist.
I’m glad Trump backhanded the old grifter.
lol yep!
