Nike frowns on discrimination, but doesn't see its own (Pacquiao)

Giant corporations like Nike can campaign all they want for homosexual frolicking and “marriage,” but can they please stop saying they are doing this in the name of “diversity” and opposition to “discrimination of any kind”?

Because this week, Nike flatly rejected a famous spokesman’s diversity and and committed discrimination of the most blind and ignorant kind — the kind that doesn’t even know it’s being discriminatory.

Filipino star boxer and politician Manny Pacquiao recently appeared in a video interview on TV5, a network in the Philippines, and commented on homosexual marriage.

He said: “It’s common sense. Do you see animals mating with the same sex? Animals are better because they can distinguish male from female. If men mate with men and women mate with women, they are worse than animals.”

Pacquiao is a politician, with an eye on running for president of the Philippines some day, and in a strongly Catholic and traditional place like his homeland his statement probably went right along with the sentiments of the majority of voters.

But Nike, not surprisingly, went into full drama-queen mode ...

I commit blatant selectivity and refuse to buy their product. And I recommend all who feels as I do, also refuse to buy their products.

For me the final straw was when they signed up Michael Vick after he got out of jail and returned to the NFL. Since then Never Nike.

Nike is pro-homosexual sex, pro-adultery, pro-dog fighting, and pro-bad behavior from athletes in general. They are however, perfectly happy to discriminate against people who are opposed to these things. Like all leftist hypocrites Nike argues from the premise that their worldview is the only one that is legitimate. When they say they will not tolerate discrimination what they really mean is they will not tolerate discrimination against their worldview.

I may soon regret commenting, but it is not discriminatory to reject as a paid spokesperson someone who is at odds with the values of the organization paying said spokesperson.

You're right.......and for what it's worth, does anyone in this country actually know who Manny Pacquiao's sponsors are and if so, do they really care?

Manny's made his millions and is now a member of his country's government. I'm sure he could not care less about his Nike endorsements...........His only worry now is his own government's attempt to confiscate his wealth due to alleged unpaid taxes.........
