President Barack Obama will not attend Justice Antonin Scalia's funeral Saturday, the White House confirmed.
Instead, the president will pay his respects on Friday, when Scalia's body lies in repose in the Great Hall of the Supreme Court building. Vice President Joe Biden will attend Scalia's funeral at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the White House said Wednesday during a press briefing.
When pressed for clarification on Obama missing the funeral, White House press secretary Josh Earnest repeated that "the president will pay his respects at the Supreme Court on Friday and he'll be joined with the first lady when he does that."
When asked whether Obama's Saturday plans include golfing, Earnest stressed instead that the president believes it is important to honor Scalia's life and service.
Four out of the past seven funerals for a Supreme Court justice have either had the president or vice president in attendance.

He should have been impeached many years ago. But Americans were so blind and foolish playing they did not recognize a criminal. And the ruling class supported King Obama, both the communists Democrats and GOPe.
How many people, aside from the inner-city blacks and elitist Hollywood celebrities, will visit Obama’s presidential library? My answer is very few. You’re not going to see average Americans take a day trip to see Obama’s presidential library when it’s built. That’s how much he is loathed in middle America.
One can easily discern what priorities and loyalties this person in the White House has by simply viewing who he pays his respects to, and who he doesn’t. It is interesting that he went to Chris Kyle’s and Margaret Thatcher’s funerals within a couple of months of each other, both of whom I am sure would have detested the essence of Obama in his entirety. It would be interesting to look at the current events between Feb and Apr of 2013 to see what was going on. My guess is advisers were trying to adjust his “optics” in some way.

I feel the same about Clinton’s library. Hard to believe it gets any visitors beyond school children field trips.

I visited there when I was in Little Rock this summer.
Despite the pics we often see on FR, it’s really a beautiful location, and the interior is nice.

The place was filled with school kids. It looks like they bring them in from all over the TX/OK/AR/MO/LA/TN area to learn the wonders of the Clinton presidency.
If you ever visit, their restaurant “42” is highly recommended. Supposedly the chefs are the same ones who prepare grub for BJ when he’s staying at the 4th floor love nest.
