Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has fallen behind Ted Cruz in the national GOP horserace, according to a brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
In the poll, Cruz is the first choice of 28 percent of Republican primary voters, while Trump gets 26 percent. They're followed by Marco Rubio at 17 percent, John Kasich at 11 percent, Ben Carson at 10 percent and Jeb Bush at 4 percent.
As a Cruz supporter I would like to thank you for saying that in a clear and correct manner.
Quite civil.
A primary voter is someone who has an established track record of consistently showing up to vote in a primary election.
Fly-in-the-ointment disclaimer from your article:
“But Cruz’s 2-point edge is within the poll’s margin of error, and it’s not clear if the survey captures real movement in the race or is simply an outlier.”
Don’t start the Cruz Control yet:
From article (curious weighting):
Another possible explanation for Trumpâs decline in the new NBC/WSJ poll is an increase in âvery conservativeâ Republican voters from Januaryâs sample.
If the current poll is re-weighted to reflect the ideological composition from last month, the GOP horserace numbers are: Trump 26 percent, Cruz 25 percent, Rubio 18 percent and Kasich 13 percent ââ¬â so Trump is ahead by one point, but still down from January.
Yep, he was able to use the bankruptcy laws to save 4 companies rather than have them go down the toilet and lose everything for stakeholders.
What horrors...
As a Realtor, I've worked with many people who were pushed into bankruptcy through no fault of their own. A couple were even pushed there by the banks who were unwilling to work with them.
Business is risky but Cruz wouldn't know much about that as he's sucked off the government teet for most of his life.
For the past 88 days, the WSJ editorials have trashed Trump.
Tomorrow it will be 89 days.
Not sure how they got to their numbers, but the rest of the polls show about what we’ve been seeing for some time.
Also, Trump is still rising in SC polling.
I’m fine with Cruz doing better, let’s get the rest out and have at with these two.
Actually, the more you look into Cruz, particularly his campaign manager Jeff Roe, and his 100+ million in super PAC “donations”, the more you realize he’s just a typical Washington slimeball.
And most (not all) of his cult-like supporters won’t even acknowledge his missteps. They just completely deny reality in their raging fits of TDS.
FWIW, nick is anything but a Trump guy
So why change the mix from one month to another? Wouldn’t you expect them to be the same?
Nope. Chap 11 then He LEFT!
Citibank and Saudi Prince kept them open.
I’m the biggest Cruz supporter here, and I’ll just say two things.
1) This is clearly an outlier and as far as the state of the race I’m a bit dubious until I see confirmation;
2) What IS EXTREMELY interesting is the head-to-head matchups between Cruz and Trump and Rubio and Trump. That’s the first such poll I’ve seen in quite a while and it shows Trump getting crushed in both matchups.
So what? So...it says when the field gets down to Trump and someone else, Trump is toast. The only question is: will that happen too late?
Hank
Well, if anybody runs against Hillary Clinton...
lowest pop and 3 days, NBS/WSJ is outlier/questionable.
But Cruz bot can post this poll 100 times till Sunday.
I don’t believe it.
If this so called poll would have shown Rubio creeping up, I wouldn’t have liked it either, but I might have bought it.
~~Go Trump Go~~ ~~Go Trump Go~~ ~~Go Trump Go~~
It is an outlier. We shall see as we go forward. There won’t be a national primary, so Cruz will have to start winning some more states to be considered in the lead for the nomination. If you believe this national poll, then you must also place some credence in all the SC polls that show Trump clearly in the lead as well as in NV. Three wins in a row for Trump creates some Trumpmentum.
live by polls, die by polls
Trumpfans on facebook know their guy is a vulgar liberal and all they had was polls...
I will vote Cruz in November.
