Ooops, they had ‘reportedly’ asked that an autopsy NOT be done......
Scalia makes the call himself. NO Security while on vacation is the usual....not the exception.
‘Judge Guevara said that she consulted with the physician and local and federal investigators, who said there were no signs of foul play, before concluding that he had died of natural causes. She said she spoke with a âDr. Monahanâ after 8 p.m. on Saturday to discuss Justice Scaliaâs health history’.
She consulted with the physician (not on site) and Fed and Local investigators.....and spoke with a Dr Monahan after 8PM......well after Scalia’s body had been embalmed (who gets embalmed the same day without a Dr consultation?). Sorry, this story is too fishy to ignore. And oh yeah, I ALWAYS believe what’s in the NYT. /SARCASM
Nobody who was there staying at the place is talking . I find that fascinating.
The Republicans are in total control of this entire process. There are but two things McConnell must do: 1) block any nomination from coming to the floor of the Senate, and 2) keep the Senate in session by not declaring it in recess (just as, I am absolutely certain, the Democrat leader would do if the situation was reversed). There is absolutely nothing the Democrat/Socialists can do except scream -- which, of course, they are very good at.
As Mark Levin said on Saturday, Justice Scalia's seat on the USSC must be defended.
“WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A vote to block the Obama administration’s ambitious climate regulation was one of Antonin Scalia’s last acts as a Supreme Court justice. His sudden death may have opened a new path to the rule’s survival.”
I'd add a third -- he should quote the New York Times and the Democrats and what they said and did when the shoe was on the other foot.
(Unlike the Democrats, the Republicans don't need a filibuster here, since they are in the majority.)
Bottom Line, Scaliaâs death is a major loss to conservatism and now threatens the foundation of American Freedom.
Mitch McConnell needs to forcefully pronounce that he will not bring a nomination to the floor, period, end of debate.
The GOP needs to make this a referendum on so much that Scalia has done to protect our Freedoms, starting with preserving the 2nd amendment and on.
This messaging will ensure a major voter turnout, unlike we have seen in decades. People will vote to support these freedoms and the GOP candidate will win in a landslide.
At every turn the Libs will be crying, at every turn the GOP needs to say we trust the American voter more than Obama.
Then why not do an autopsy to remove all doubt. If you're correct, that'd be a snap.
Instead, no autopsy on a man with a pillow over his head, who "just happens" to be the single most conservative member of the Supreme Court, and a rush to get the man embalmed (which interferes with toxicology studies). If you WANT conspiracy theories and to feed the growing mistrust of government, I cannot think of a better way - except to have McConnell inexplicably allow a vote on a replacement (which, given the spinelessness of the Republicans and the willingness of the Dems to do ANYTHING to achieve power, is undoubtedly coming).
We will have a 4-4 court until we have a new President. Been done before, not the end of the world.
This is part of what a person in the public eye, AND THEIR FAMILY, have to put up with. If he wanted total privacy for himself and his family, he could've had a career in private practice, or not accepted the nomination to the Court. I'm sorry, but this one particular man was so important that there needs to be NO doubt as to why/how he died...SO MUCH turns on the fact that he's gone, that he didn't survive for another 11 months and a week, that the public's interest overrides that of his family - IMHO.

Yeah, that silly master assassin leaving the pillow on his face. Dock his pay!
The man was old and died. And that’s all there is to it. Period.
Thanks for the link. Interesting.
Actually, this info wasn’t “according to his doctor.” It was according to the NYTs, which only paraphrased, but did not quote, Justice Cinderela Guevara’s reported recollection of what the doctor said to her.
The New York Times says that the judge says that the doctor said...
That’s hearsay, not a primary source. It may, in fact, turn out to be pretty much accurate. However, given Justice Cinderela Guevara’s many missteps and communication gaffes along the way in this, it’s not unreasonable to put this in the category of Maybe, Maybe Not.
Can’t wait for the book and movie!
Well all this scare talk is a wonderful form of excitement but the fact is Mitch McConnell is not about to let BHO name a replacement for Scalia. There are many ways for the Senate to achieve this as the Senate totally controls the structure of the Supreme Court. They can just decide that the court only needs 8 justices thereby no vacancy to fill. The Senate can simply refuse to vote on a nominee put forward by BHO or they can vote it down or they can decide the court needs 11 justices and wait til the GOP candidate takes office and let him appoint 3 new conservative justices well 4 including the Scalia vacancy. Many many options.
The X Files episode is probably in the works as we speak.
I think that it's more likely to be Valerie Jarrett or Kim Jong-Un.
I hear what you are saying.
Is it not a strange request? Why on earth would the family not want an autopsy? I know the man had health issues, but seriously if he was that close to “death”, why oh why was out on a ranch hooping and hollering?
Something feels not right...
