Donald Trump Floats Idea of a Third-Party Run Again
ABC News ^ | Feb 15, 2016 | BRAD MIELKE

At a town hall today in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Donald Trump floated the idea -- without explicitly threatening to do so -- that he may run as an independent candidate.

Trump attacked the Republican National Committee, saying it "better get its act together" and it "does a terrible job." Trump said he believes the RNC treated him unfairly.

Trump also went off on the crowd that booed him during Saturday night's GOP debate in South Carolina: "Look at it, that was a wealthy room."

"The whole room was made of special interests and donors, which is a disgrace from the RNC," Trump said. "The RNC better get its act together because, you know, I signed a pledge. The pledge isn’t being honored by the RNC."

Trump signed an RNC pledge in September, agreeing not to run a third-party candidacy and to support the eventual Republican nominee.

"I signed a pledge, but it’s a double-edged pledge. As far as I’m concerned, they’re in default on their pledge," Trump said of the RNC.

Trump also spent several minutes hitting Sen. Ted Cruz on dirty campaign tactics, calling him the most dishonest guy in politics he’s ever met.

He’s criticized Cruz “holding up the Bible,” and says he’s beating Cruz when it comes to evangelical voters.

I’d be happy if Trump just started behaving like an adult.

ABC is lying and simply making stuff up. Trump floated nothing about a 3rd party run. After all, Trump is already totally blowing everyone else out of the race.

Here’s what Trump ACTUALLY said:

Trump attacked the Republican National Committee, saying it “better get its act together” and it “does a terrible job.” Trump said he believes the RNC treated him unfairly.

Trump also went off on the crowd that booed him during Saturday night’s GOP debate in South Carolina: “Look at it, that was a wealthy room.”

“The whole room was made of special interests and donors, which is a disgrace from the RNC,” Trump said. “The RNC better get its act together because, you know, I signed a pledge. The pledge isn’t being honored by the RNC.”

This is what I’m afraid of, with Trump. He might just be too egotistical, too much “I’m gonna take my ball and go home” if he doesn’t get his way. The presidency requires a great deal of cooperation with disparate parties. I really think Cruz is more consistent, more statesmanlike than Trump.

Ok so the GOPe stacks the audience full of fat cats and flunkies that are there to deliberately boo certain candidates and cheer others.

You are ok with this.

You expect candidates to act like whipped dogs and put their heads down and turn the other cheek.

So when they do it to Cruz, if Trump wasn’t there, what are you going to say then?

You think that everyone here is supposed to jump up and rally around Cruz? and bitch about how awful the GOPe is then?

As usual; its all about him and keeping himself in the spotlight.
What a big baby.
Maybe the Dems should pick him instead of Biden, when Hillary implodes.

“Yeah! Just bend over and grab you ankles and take up the rear like Republicans have been doing for nearly 40 years!”

Because whining and moaning incessantly about how his target of the week isn’t kissing his ring is the hallmark of a presidential countenance. The petulant little rich boy in the big man’s suit needs to grow up.

Given the unbelievably unfair and cruel way Donald Trump has been treated by the RNC and his fellow candidates, why shouldn’t he run third party and absolutely destroy the corrupt, rotten-to-the-core GOPe-led Republican Party?

The GOPe and its current corrupt version of the Republican Party needs to be consigned to the garbage heap of history to which it belongs.

The booed both Trump and Cruz. Both were treated unfairly. Both are hated by the GOP-e.

Wish they would knock it off and focus on Rubio

They dont need to “get over it”.

If you aren’t going to give a s*it be happy he is or else do everyone a favor and no longer complain in the future about the GOPe.

No one has to take it because it bothers you that they pound them over it.

“Donald Trump Floats Idea of a Third-Party Run Again”

Sounds like Donald needs a high-flow toilet... then he won’t have these floaters popping back up again and again.

I hate illegal immigration. I also hate the big banks. If I thought Donald Trump would do anything about either, I might vote for him. I have concluded he will not. He donated to Democrats repeatedly. His answer is, ‘I had to in order to run my business’. That’s fine, although that means he put his interests above our interests. Now, he runs for President, and he tells us, ‘trust me, it’s not like that anymore, I have your best interests at heart’. Really? Or is he just telling us what we want to hear? Or did he donate to those Democrats because he really is a Democrat? Either way, he’s not someone I trust to limit government. At all.

I can assure you if Cruz was being treated this way, the bots would be singing a different tune. Trump puts a lot of stock in contracts - and if anyone has read his books - he hates liars. And, that is why he is setting the record straight on Cruz’s constant lying about his positions.

Isn’t it funny that Steve King made the comment that “we don’t call people liars?” Did he forget that his boy went on national TV and called McConnell a liar? A person reaps what he sows.

Again Trumpbots behave like infants just like Trump. Of, except he likes to cheat on his spouses so I guess infants don’t do that.

If Trump is such an astounding, rock-ribbed, stand-in-the-gap negotiator as he claims to be...

Part of his strategy to win the primary is to expose the donor class and their ownership of establishment candidates. This "whining" of his is accomplishing that mission.

“I hope he does sue, either do it or stop threatening.... a threat stops being a threat after about 3 times of not following through.”

Yeah I take his threats about as seriously as Barack “Don’t Call My Bluff” Obama’s threats.

I like it when Trump acts nutty.

It’s especially funny since he is doing his best to throw away a huge lead.

The guy just can’t help himself.

I've been wary of The Donald (blessing be upon him); but he's had so many of the right enemies, especially the media.

Then it occurred to me: Hillary is probably still mad at the media for the way they dropped her in favor of Obummer. From Hillary's perspective the media betrayed her. She was owed the candidacy 7 years ago.

The Donald seems to save his harshest attacks for Republicans and Fox; never the democrats. He's a verbal battering ram, but I'm not sure he's pointed the right way.

I'm not saying I'm sure, but I'm leaving the ‘Clinton Operative’ interpretation of The Donald on the table.
