Trump’s Not Wrong: Cruz Loved The Justice The Right Hates
Daily Beast ^ | 2/13/2016 | Betsy Woodruff

Ted Cruz has claimed a special skill at judging would-be Supreme Court nominees - but his praise of Justice Roberts in 2005 might call his judgment into question as the debate on who will replace Justice Antonin Scalia begins.

At tonight's Republican presidential debate, Ted Cruz tried valiantly to distance himself from his support for John Roberts's confirmation to the Supreme Court. But correspondence with his staff in the Texas solicitor general's office shows Cruz was just as enthusiastic as anyone about Roberts's prospects on the high court.

Of course, it's completely correct that Cruz didn't nominate Roberts; Cruz was not president of the United States in 2005. But, as Cruz's own email and op-ed make abundantly clear, he was a vocal and adoring booster of Roberts during his confirmation hearing process.

Not only did Cruz support Robets he cited liberal Larry Tribe in that NR opinion. Would POTUS Cruz consult liberal Tribe on a SCOTUS pick?

“Cruz got schlonged by Roberts and is now pretending he never supported him. That’s the problem. He is not honest.”

Theen you can certainly name a couple dozen conservatives who opposed Roberts to he hilt. Maybe you saved the twenty volume work you did in opposing Roberts so we can all marvel at your omniscience.

Trump opposes conservative judges on the Court.

Cruz supports conservative justices on the Court.

Trump would support any amount of liberalism on the court including the right to partial abortion.

“Regardless, Trump supports his friends.”

Tell about how he supports his wives . . .

Roberts fooled everyone. That was why he was selected. He had no paper trail for anyone to judge. All you had were first impressions; and I guess first impressions of his demeanor were good. What’s not to like ..??

Why is everybody so eager to blame Cruz for Roberts, when he had nothing to do with selecting him .... Geeeee, I bet I know the answer to that .......

Roberts Donated Help to Gay Rights Case In 1996, activists won a landmark anti-bias ruling with the aid of the high court nominee.

Roberts clerked with Cruz. Wouldn't Cruz have knows of this red flag against Roberts before Cruz enthusiastically pushed George W. Bush to nominate him?

-Roberts Donated Help to Gay Rights Case-

Since we know this, and we know Roberts likes to take pictures of food with his male friends, exactly how close was Cruz with Roberts ?

Exactly.

You answered your own question. Cruz and Roberts were apparently very good friends.

As we know, marriages are tough to keep going.   There have been rocky times in my own marriage.   Luckily my wife stuck with me through hard times and my failures.

Ivana has openly come out and supports Trump for president.  We haven't heard from Marla Maples.

Financially I'm sure they are supported.

At least the Trump children are apparently well raised and good Americans.

“At least the Trump children are apparently well raised and good Americans.”

But we are not being asked to vote on Trump's children.

Trump is the candidate - and a flawed one at that. I say that not just because he repeatedly walked away from his marriage vows.

Trump goes much further astray - he writes a book and boasts of his infidelities as if it is something of which he is proud.

Ask yourself: what kind of politician publishes that kind of information? This is getting into Anthony Weiner territory.
