Donald Trump says a lot of things. We've become all too used to that now. Some of these things should probably be taken with a grain of salt - "Only Rosie O'Donnell" comes to mind - but some deserve to be analyzed more closely.

What else do we have other than Trump’s off the cuff comments? Has he made any serious comments?

He also says 9/11 was Bush’s fault because it happened while he was President and that Bush lied about WMDs. He has praised socialized medicine. He supports touchback amnesty. he supported TARP and the “stimulus”.

Did a google search on SC picks by Trump and that article posted was the first.

In reviewing it see some links that need to follow up on.

Just wanted to see who posters thought he might pick.

(Still love you!!) LOL!!!

His sister is now a dead topic.

No, she's his model for a Supreme Court justice.

That to me is the concern. The last paragraph of the article is:

“Donald Trump may very well be that nominee. But will he appoint Supreme Court Justices in the same vein as his sister, who has defended abortion as a judge up to the moment of birth and beyond? Or will he appoint a more conservative voice like Justice Thomas, who Trump has gone out of his way to praise repeatedly?’

No matter who is elected or who is the next SC Justice would like to see the Constitution not tossed in the ..... whatever!!

Not true.

First it has to get out of committee and to the floor for debate. Then it takes 60 votes to end debate & proceed to a vote, not 2/3.

Once to a vote, a simple majority carries.

Hello AuntB,

You stated Trump named TWO good conservative picks in the debate. Some how I missed those, would you happen to remember the names of the TWO?

And Cruz lied about that.......don’t watch that much TV and not seeing that will not comment.

“First Roberts” not sure anyone you knew did something that you thought they would not do. Have been disappointed in some of the posters here ( on both sides or really should say on ALL sides since there are still more than TWO candidates in the race) in their posts.

There are those who will not stay on point in a thread and seem to try to divert the direction of the thread. I have been guilty of that and am disappointed in me. :)

Look forward to your reply with the picks by Trump. Knowing your abilities have no doubt you will be able to tell me who they are.

Thanks!

Take.........pilgrim

I was stuck in a quandary or the horns of a dilemma, seem to be climbing out of the quandary, off the horns.

Just not sure where I am but a little more settled.

Scalia’s death was a kick in the stomach. His replacement is critical, crucial (and 100+ more adjectives) to America’s future.

Constitution and adherence to, existing law and adherence to, etc are very imperative (wish I could think of a word that explains my thought there) at the juncture in history.

Think you will survive. Been is some ROUGH spots in the last twelve or so years and the only thing I can say. I lived through it and SURVIVED!! But I am a survivor only by the grace and help of GOD!!!

dp0622 will survive!!

Would you have any thoughts on the Senate’s response to the pResidents appointee?

Think that is inevitable!!! He has to “DO HIS DUTY!”

Would love that!!

Someone would have to apply SOME pressure on Congress to get him approved (imo).

My opinion of Congress as a whole is at the lowest point that I can ever remember. Thought they were worthless in the past, but they are not just worthless they are supportive of the demise of America as we know it!!!

You might want to look at this.

And incidentally Trump is the only one to make a suggestion on this subject, so far.

We both will. We’re fighters.

From Rocky Balboa:

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!...

it’s a great several minute scene. I listen to it when I need some extra motivation.

whatever happens, you always have a FRiend here paesan

ciao,
Mark

Just read this on another thread if you missed it.

Diane Sykes and Bill Pryor. Not sure about any of their rulings but first glance look good.
