Not Ted Cruz.....NO!
It is obvious Trump will fearlessly expose the corruption, lies, and betrayal
In our political system.
We need a good housecleaning.....and Ted won’t do it.
He’s one of the establishment, bought and paid for.
TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT!
We should elect the most conservative candidate that can actually win in a general election then. Ultraconservative evangelical ideologues have not served us well in the recent past-Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock specifically. Trump can cut into key Democrat demographics-blacks, women, union members, for example. I don’t see Cruz significantly cutting into any key demographics.
This is absolutely a game changer that is going to blow up big time in the faces of the GOP.
First, denying President Obama the opportunity to place a nominee on the Court will invite an unprecedented level of media uproar that will lead to a further erosion of the popularity of the Republican Party.
Second, once the Senate GOP has been raked over the coals and public approval drops to the low teens, they will fold, approving the president’s nominee, and proceeding to lose whatever credibility it has left with Conservatives.
This will be followed by the loss of the Republican Senate majority and a presidential loss to either Hillary or to Joe Biden.
We could very well witness the end of the Republican Party.
Wow, Harry Reid has spoken.
Obama and his supporters can go eff themselves.
There is 80 years of precedent for supporting waiting until after a presidential election to appoint a Supreme Court justice.
There is NO specific number of Supreme Court Justices required by law in this case, either - it can function quite well with only 8.
And the GOP and their proselytes can drop dead.
We Conservatives are not whores selling our soul for popularity or votes.
In my opinion the Republican party died decades ago.
The body is hardly cold and PMSNBC is Salivating over it.
Americans need to be reminded how far left Obama’s picks have been, and asked if they like gay marriage, open borders, boys using girls’ bathrooms & showers, coddling terrorists etc. It is true the country has moved left, but many people are unhappy with the direction of the country. MUCH of the blame is due to SCOTUS.
OK, so what is your plan?
I would bet that 99.5% of the population could not name ONE SC justice.
I don’t think they would care that much if the GOP stalled the nomination the communist pres. will put up.
Please stop the Todd Akin bashing.
Todd was leading in the polls until Karl Rove opened his big, fat mouth on national television and said he was pulling funds and would not support Todd. This was all because Todd had defeated Rove’s oh so precious “electable” candidate. In effect, Rove was signalling to the world that he was supporting McCaskill!!!
Todd would have won that race in a landslide had he not been backstabbed by the GOPe.
Actually, maybe it would be better to have an even number of justices on the court (8 or 10). That way, no laws would be changed by just one justice.
NO ONE PERSON IN THIS COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE THIS MUCH POWER !
Uhhhh...two words. Legitimate rape. No one gave a damn about Karl Rove.
Which republican candidate running for the nomination donated tens of thoudands of dollars to the campaigns of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Hillary Clinton? All of whom, btw, are the establishment.
What good does it do Trump to cut across different demographics if a significant percentage of his own party won’t even consider voting for him?
I agree with your claims about Ted Cruz, I support him. We must not, though, let this be about Cruz or Trump. We must focus, unite as a movement (conservatism) to STOP the nomination of Obama. It doesn’t matter who he nominates, whomever it is, we know already it will be someone unacceptable. No vetting required.
We must stop the infighting; we must focus now on calling our Senators, tearing up the phone lines and filling up inboxes. I realize they are on recess, but it must be done. We must focus on the Senate, harassing them with as much fervor as we can muster, as much tenacity as we have expressed towards our “enemy” candidate (whomever that might be, be it Cruz or Trump). We must focus that energy on stopping Obama.
The death of Scalia is indeed a game changer. It’s time to unite now, even though the primaries aren’t over. It’s time to stop focusing on “our” candidate, and start focusing on stopping Obama’s wretched plan. We thought we could ignore him now, but Scalia’s death changes this. He still can do tremendous damage. He must be stopped. We can’t do it if we are too busy fighting for “our” candidate.
The Left has shown they can unite when needed; it’s time we do the same!
“First, denying President Obama the opportunity to place a nominee on the Court will invite an unprecedented level of media uproar that will lead to a further erosion of the popularity of the Republican Party.”
Please use the “/sarc” tag so no one thinks you’re serious.
What did you think of Cruz when he stood alone on the floor of Senate and called Mitch McConnell a liar?
